Horrified by the attack on Temple Israel in Michigan. It is unacceptable that another Jewish community is left traumatized by such blatant antisemitism in America. Everyone should be able to pray in their house of worship without fear.
Shrapnel wounds. Brain injuries. Burns. Trump is throwing our troops into unjustified foreign wars while gutting our VA and making it harder to get the care they earned when they come home.
The true cost of war is so much more than a billion dollars a day. It's paid for in the blood and sacrifices of our troops—who still don't know what the mission is, when it will end or whether their wounds are justified. We need to put this Administration under oath in a public hearing. Now.
Absolutely infuriating. The Iranian missile that Hegseth downplayed as a "squirter getting through" killed six Americans and left dozens with traumatic brain injuries, burns and shrapnel in their bodies.
CBS EXCLUSIVE: Dozens of U.S. servicemembers in Kuwait suffered serious injuries, including burns, brain trauma and shrapnel wounds, sources say
This president never served in uniform—but has no problem using our troops as cannon fodder in a war he cannot justify. Enough. We need to put them under oath to get the answers our troops deserve.
Before throwing a new generation of troops into war, they made sure to: Torpedo our VA.
Enact the biggest health care cut in history.
Shutter hospitals. Don’t you dare tell me you care about our heroes when you're doing everything you can to undermine care when they get home.
ABC News: Many military members may get care at hospitals at risk of financial distress — partly due to Trump cuts
They're hiding their incompetence behind the valor of our men and women in uniform. As if to question why we're at war is to question our heroes. No, it's to make sure the mission is worth their sacrifices. Our troops will always do their job. Republicans need to do theirs.
As many as 140 servicemembers injured. 7 killed. Thousands of Americans stranded in the region with a target on their backs and no escape. All for a war that a draft dodger cannot even articulate a coherent and consistent justification for. How. Is. This. America. First.
As if food prices weren’t hitting your pocketbook hard enough, now gas prices are another sucker punch. This is Trump’s doing. Higher costs and more war is not what he promised.
The global oil benchmark topped $100 a barrel late Sunday, putting Republicans on the defensive on an issue at the center of this year’s midterm elections.
Extending my heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, the seventh American servicemember killed in the week since Trump launched another war of choice. Our troops will always answer the call. Their leaders owe it to them to ensure their sacrifices are justified.
Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington
Thousands of Americans are stranded in the Middle East receiving conflicting guidance while their President admits there was no evacuation plan. That is unacceptable. Secretary Rubio must ramp up crisis efforts to get Americans to safety immediately.
A letter led by U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), along with her Senate Democratic colleagues, demanding that Secretary of State Marco Rubio immediately ramp up communication and efforts to safely evacuate American citizens who have been left stranded in a crisis of Trump’s own making in the Middle East.
It took the full might of the Veteran community to get them to back down on this. Otherwise, they were set to cut disability benefits... merely a week before throwing a new generation of troops into war. And they really think we believe they care about those who serve?
Washington Post: In rare move, Veterans Affairs pulls back on controversial disability rule
BREAKING: Senate Republicans just blocked our bipartisan War Powers Resolution to rein in Trump's illegal war of choice against Iran. They chose fealty to Trump over our troops' lives.
Our troops volunteered to serve. They will always execute their mission to the best of their ability, no matter what is asked of them. And we should all be proud of their professionalism and sacrifices. But when these heroes are killed because of a needless war of choice, it is not the media…
Hegseth: "This is what the fake news misses. We've taken control of Iran's airspace & waterways without boots on the ground. But when a few drones get through or tragic things happen, it's front page news. I get it- the press only wants to make POTUS look bad, but try for once to report the reality"
I want a democratic Iran. And I won’t shed a tear for the Ayatollah’s death. But my first concern will always be the national security of the United States. Trump is putting our troops and all Americans in danger without any real reason he can explain.
