Remember: Donald Trump and Education Secretary McMahon have spent months raising costs for families with student loans. This is necessary relief, but make no mistake: they've got a lot more to do if they're serious about tackling the affordability crisis flattening families.
The Treasury Secretary says no big deal if the world stops buying U.S. Treasuries. It’s a huge deal for our country’s financial health and for Americans who would pay higher interest rates on car loans and mortgages. Why is he spouting nonsense? To suck up to a wannabe dictator.
Trump is trying to seize control of the Fed – and it looks like he’s weaponizing the Department of Justice and other agencies to do it. It’s a dangerous abuse of power that will have serious consequences for Americans. @durbin.senate.gov and I are getting to the bottom of it.
This bill does nothing to lower health care costs. This bill doesn't restrict Trump’s military adventurism in Venezuela and Greenland. This bill doesn't halt ICE’s dangerous abuses of power and prevent ICE’s chaos in every American city. I will vote NO on this budget deal.
Over the last year, President Trump pardoned dozens of criminals. Combined, they were ordered to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in fines and restitution. Trump let them off the hook. Nothing says cracking down on crime like letting criminals run free.
@blumenthal.senate.gov is right. As the Senate continues to debate a crypto market structure bill, we must make sure it protect investors, our financial system, and American taxpayers.
