This #InternationalWorkersDay and every day, I support workers in the fight for better wages, benefits, and working conditions! That’s why I’m fighting alongside my @laborcaucus.house.gov colleagues to pass the PRO Act and protect workers’ right to organize and bargain collectively.
We stand on the shoulders of the workers who fought for our rights. Today, we celebrate the bravery of those who stood up to ensure dignity for every person on the job. #InternationalWorkersDay ✊
Americans are paying the price of Trump’s war of choice. 13 service members have been killed and hundreds more injured. Gas prices are skyrocketing and our economy is cratering. And all 11 of Pennsylvania’s GOP lawmakers have voted consistently to let the president continue unimpeded.
Gas UNDER $4 a gallon?! Not sure where in the world the House GOP majority leader is talking about — but here in Philadelphia, gas is at a four-year high and inflation is going up. Yet congressional Republicans still refuse to stop Trump's war OR his tariff-taxes.
SCALISE: We've delivered. Remember that 2 years ago, we were paying almost $6 a gallon. Right now it's in the $3s KERNEN: When were we paying $6? SCALISE: 2.5 years ago K: That's not right S: We are lowering inflation K: We're actually above where we were then. 2 years ago the average was $3.65
Over 176,000 Pennsylvanians have already been kicked off SNAP and are struggling to put food on the table thanks to Trump’s Reverse Robin Hood Budget. And House Republicans just voted to make this $187,000,000,000 cut PERMANENT!
Congressional Republicans' farm bill fails to address skyrocketing grocery prices, to restore SNAP cuts, or to do a thing about Trump’s tariff-taxes that are hurting farmers and families. This disastrous bill doesn't meet the moment — I voted NO.
It was great to meet with 32BJ SEIU to talk about the importance of affordable health care and the impact of anti-competitive practices by large hospital systems on patients and the cost of care. I’m always proud to stand with our labor partners!
This bill also does NOTHING to reopen the vital, law-abiding parts of DHS, like TSA & FEMA. This administration says they will soon run out of funds to pay these federal workers. But Speaker Johnson STILL won't hold a House vote on the Senate-passed bill to fund DHS without ICE & Border Patrol.
Trump said we don't have the funding to make child care or health care affordable. Yet under his marching orders, the House GOP wants to hand $70 BILLION to lawless ICE and Border Patrol — WITHOUT significant reforms! That's on top of the $140 BILLION they gave these agencies last year.
