1/ This bill only passed because Republicans drew skewed districts in states like NC, TX, FL & OH - unlike PA, where we have a fair map thanks to our state Supreme Court. House Democrats passed bills to stop #gerrymandering in two different Congresses.

Pennsylvanians don’t like it when you take away their health care, food, hospitals or nursing homes! I may not be the only PA member leaving Congress 18 months from now.
I voted NO again on the Trump Reverse Robin Hood bill - More details in my full statement:

Just took to the House Floor to speak in support of a country where everyone can afford to live the good life.
And in strong opposition to Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill that is devastating to everyday Americans.
We will not be silenced.

Republicans began this process insisting that they weren’t cutting Medicaid. “We’re just telling Energy and Commerce to find savings, but it won’t be Medicaid.”
And now they’re about to pass the biggest Medicaid cut in history, at least four times the size of the current largest cut in history.
While gutting SNAP food aid for children & families, Republicans are providing a $2 BILLION tax break for gun silencers.
I denounced this handout to the gun lobby in @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social and will keep fighting it on the floor. The GOP’s budget priorities are sorely misguided!
Thank you everyone for the kind retirement wishes!
That’s still 18 months away – today, I’m focused on fighting the GOP’s budget that strips nearly 500k Pennsylvanians of their health care and will force hospital & nursing home closures across PA. Now is the time for everyone to keep up this fight!
House Republicans have 1/1000th the clout of a senator from Alaska & they KNOW it.
They still haven’t gotten:
• Concessions on debt OR spending
• Changes on Medicaid to protect hospitals, nursing homes, or patients.

As House Republicans try to jam through Trump’s One Big, Ugly Bill, @repdean.bsky.social has a simple question on today’s Democratic Daily Download:
Why would anyone vote for this terrible bill?
506,000 PA children would have benefited from the bipartisan House bill that we created in the @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social last year - but Senate Republicans said No:
House Republicans love to roll over for the Senate.
Last year, Senate Republicans rejected a bipartisan House-passed tax package that would have expanded the child tax credit & business tax credits.
And now House Republicans are getting ready to chicken out again. They Always Chicken Out. #TACO
Some Congressional Republicans have been looking for a way to “fix” their disaster-ridden budget.
Here’s a suggestion👇🏾
Trump and Congressional Republicans’ budget would strip health care away from 17 million Americans. That’s enough people to fill Lincoln Financial Field over 251 times!
And to pay for what? Even more tax cuts for a handful of billionaires.
As it comes back to the House, my Democratic colleagues and I will continue fighting back against the GOP’s disastrous budget bill. (2/2)
Let’s be clear what Senate Republicans are applauding:
• Stripping 17 million Americans of their health care
• Forcing hospital and nursing home closures across the country
• Trillions in tax cuts for billionaires
It’s disgusting and immoral. (1/2)
Read more about the role Medicaid plays in their lives here:
Republicans’ budget rips health care away from nearly 500,000 Pennsylvanians.
Each one of them is a real person whose life is at stake.
I'm fighting against this reckless budget for Gianna, Ramona, Rowan, Melissa & everyone in PA who rely on Medicaid/Medical Assistance.

When nurses say “Don’t cut Medicaid” - I LISTEN, and Congressional Republicans should too!
I was glad to meet with Pennsylvania nurses from the American Nurses Association to talk about the impact of the GOP’s disastrous budget on their patients, as well as hospitals and nursing homes.
HAPPENING RIGHT NOW: The Senate is voting on Trump’s #BigUglyBill!
This disastrous budget scheme would strip health care away from nearly 500,000 Pennsylvanians and lead to over a dozen nursing home closures across our Commonwealth, including Inglis House right here in Philly!
