In #PA03 nearly 250,000 people rely on Medicaid. It provides coverage from childbirth to nursing home care- and everything in between.
Yesterday, I joined @senatorhughes.com’ roundtable with other lawmakers, health experts, & community advocates with a message for President Trump: #HandsOffMedicaid

As Yom HaShoah begins tonight, let us honor the memories of the six million Jews and countless others murdered at the hands of a hate-filled regime.
May their memories be a blessing and may #NeverAgain be a lasting reality.
As our country faces a cost-of-living crisis, President Trump’s economic priorities couldn’t be clearer: let hard-working Americans pay the price while his billionaire donor buddies are protected.
#EarthDay reminder: Pollution disproportionately impacts communities of color, leading to higher rates of disease including asthma, cancer, and lung & cardiac failure.
As Trump guts vital environmental protections, I'm recommitted to fighting for clean air, land, and water for ALL Philadelphians.

Housing costs are already too high – and Trump and Republicans are making it even worse.
On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @repkamlagerdove.bsky.social breaks down what’s happening and how Democrats are working to lower costs.
This is yet another egregious violation of our national security by the Trump Administration.
At the very least, Pete Hegseth must immediately resign or be fired.
I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Pope Francis.
Pope Francis was a tireless advocate for the poor and the marginalized, and an incredible champion for global peace and human rights.
May he rest in peace, and may his legacy of compassion, humility, and empathy live on for generations.
Happy Easter Philly! Wishing everyone celebrating a happy and blessed holiday!

WOW. One of the Venezuelans whom Kristi Noem tried to render to El Salvador's slave prison managed to avoid removal and was able to make it to immigration court, and you'll never guess what happened: THE GOVERNMENT GAVE NO EVIDENCE OF HIS GANG MEMBERSHIP. Due process ftw

Over 32% of Americans rely on Medicaid to survive. We cannot sit idle while an unelected billionaire targets it.
Here's who a $800 billion cut harms:
❌3.7 million children
❌540,000 low-income seniors
❌415,000 adults with disabilities
Without Medicaid, Americans will suffer.
While gun violence is down in Philly & many other communities, it’s still far too common. Every year 100,000 people survive gun violence in America.
I introduced the Resources for Victims of Gun Violence Act with @markey.senate.gov, to better connect survivors & loved ones to much needed resources.
Stories like hers are a major reason why I voted NO on the Republican budget that enables $880 billion in Medicaid cuts!
#MedicaidMatters
39% of children in PA rely on Medicaid for health coverage. Kids like Hallie, who was born 4 months prematurely.
Abby from Fairmount, Hallie’s parent, told me how Medicaid was critical to her recovery. “Having the breathing room of the Medicaid system there really made this possible,” she said.

I applaud Harvard for standing up to the bullying and blatant authoritarian behavior of President Trump.
Just as House Democrats held the line against the Trump-backed GOP budget resolution, it will take everyone fighting back against this corrupt and abusive administration:

When Democrats expanded the Child Tax Credit in 2021, we cut child poverty in HALF, lifting millions of kids out of poverty. Republicans let the change expire.
Last week, I rallied with @ruephilacouncil.bsky.social & community members to call for the expansion of this known poverty-buster!
Apparently leaks are only OK in the Trump administration when they come from the defense secretary or national security adviser?
I’m renewing my calls for a special counsel to investigate #Signalgate and for Trump to fire Hegseth and Waltz!
Last week, all but 2 House Republicans present voted for legislation that makes $880 BILLION in Medicaid cuts possible. Where was their worry then?

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
