Behind the scenes of a busy day in Washington: Ollie watching as I manage the floor debate of three bipartisan bills for the House Natural Resources Committee - after a five hour House Armed Services Committee hearing on the Middle East.
Last week, I introduced an amendment to prioritize the bipartisan support for stormwater management at the Naval Academy to prevent flooding and keep providing our midshipmen with the highest-quality, uninterrupted education needed to serve our nation.

During these difficult times, I’m so grateful for groups like FeedHoCo and the Indian Cultural Association, who are working to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to our neighbors in need in Howard County – thank you for letting me be a small part of your incredible work this past weekend.
I joined the Shia Muslim Foundation for their Safety and Security Seminary just a few days ago to address the safety challenges mosques and places of worship face here in Maryland. We will continue to stand with our Muslim neighbors not just with our words, but with action.
As we mourn this senseless loss of life, we are once again reminded of the need for Congress to pass commonsense gun-safety legislation, unequivocally condemn Islamophobia in all forms, and boost funding for nonprofit security grants.
But instead of introducing policies to make life more affordable for the American people, Republicans would rather force through a budget that spends $1 billion in taxpayer dollars on President Trump’s ballroom.
🇺🇸 This year is the 250th anniversary of our great nation – that’s 250 years that We the People have had a say in this radical experiment of self-governance. That's why I want to hear how you are continuing to be part of this great democratic experiment.
I made it back from a long week in DC on Friday in time to speak to my niece Orla’s fifth-grade class at Germantown Elementary School for Career Day! We covered all aspects of my job as their Congresswoman, from how I vote on the Floor to legislation I’m working on to protect the Bay & much more.
