As the daughter and granddaughter of Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans, and a member of the House Armed Services Committee, it’s an absolute privilege to support our next generation of leaders.

One of the best parts of my job is having the honor of nominating our talented young people from #MD03 to our nation’s military academies. This week, my team and I invited our 31 incredible service academy appointees and their families to Washington to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment!
That’s why I introduced the bipartisan NOAA Data Preservation Act to ensure NOAA’s crucial data for severe weather forecasting is protected so they can continue their lifesaving work this hurricane season and beyond.
Last year, between DOGE and the President’s budget, we saw unprecedented attacks on NOAA by this Administration.
As we enter hurricane season, I’m thinking of the NOAA scientists and experts who make sure we get daily weather updates on our phones, lifesaving updates on severe storms, and so much more.
I can’t wait to meet the rest of our incredible intern class and hear what they accomplish this summer — welcome to #TeamElfreth!
Even on busy days in Washington, it’s always a highlight speaking with our interns and getting to know what motivated them to lend a hand in our office. I had a chance to meet two of our new D.C. Summer Interns and answer some of their questions as they walked with me to votes.
I’ll keep fighting in Congress to reassert our Constitutional power of the purse and make sure your taxpayer dollars aren't spent on payouts to the President’s allies and insurrectionists.
UPDATE: Thanks to YOUR advocacy and pressure on this Administration and Congressional Republicans, the President’s $1.8 billion slush fund is now scrapped.
That’s why I led 20 of my colleagues in urging Secretary Mullin to reinstate automatic extensions to allow our constituents to continue working and contributing to our communities with dignity and security.
When the Trump Administration cancelled automatic extensions, millions of workers were put at risk of losing their ability to work through no fault of their own.
For 10 years, automatic extensions for Employment Authorization Documents or EADs have given American businesses and immigrant workers certainty in the face of lengthy immigration processing times.
As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of this country’s great experiment of self-governance, it’s never been more important to register so your voice is heard come Election Day!

🗳️ Today is the LAST DAY to complete your online registration to vote in the Maryland 2026 Primary Election! While you can still register during the early voting period or on Election Day at your local polling place, it’s never too early to make your plan to vote.
This is not law & order – our National Guards should only be used in the most urgent scenarios, not for daily law enforcement. I’ve joined 110+ of my colleagues in calling on the courts to stop President Trump’s excessive use of the National Guard & end this executive overreach in our communities.
Today, there are more than 3,500 National Guard members stationed in Washington D.C., and this month, President Trump just requested an additional 1,500 troops to supposedly combat crime and promote law and order.
But each year, Pride is more than just a celebration – it’s a call to action to build a future where all our neighbors, regardless of who they love or how they identify, can live openly and authentically, without fear.
Happy Pride Month 🏳️🌈 As a proud member of the @equality.house.gov, I’m always committed to standing in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in celebrating love, acceptance, and equality.
Ensuring it remains a place where history, culture, and community continue to thrive for generations.
After working with Highland Beach Mayor Chissel over the last year on solutions, I visited the beach and the Frederick Douglass Museum along with Secretary Strickland, Senator Henson, Delegate Jones, and Delegate Behler to discuss how we can collaborate to restore the shoreline.
