4. As a co-sponsor of the Emmett Till Antilynching Act, I was proud to see President Biden sign it into law. It is a symbolic and important effort to learn from our past and demonstrate our values today. Learn more ⬇️
3. We must ensure we right the wrongs we still can, and we work for justice and equality. And we must reject the forces that want to erase the progress Americans have made since in protecting civil rights and voting rights.
2. We cannot forget and should not omit from our history his story—or the other stories of cruel and shameful events in our past. We must remember and honor Emmett Till and the many others who suffered in myriad ways in an unjust and unequal society.
1. 70 years ago today, 14-year-old Emmett Till was lynched after he was accused of whistling at a white woman. His brave mother made sure Americans saw the brutality of his murder at his funeral.
My heart is with the children in Minneapolis, their families, and the teachers and first responders who rushed to protect those in harm’s way from this senseless tragedy. We must do more to protect our children and our communities from gun violence.
3. When people are in need, when there is work to do, don't wait to be asked to help and don't worry if you don't know exactly what to do. Just show up. Houstonians did that during Harvey. And we must continue to show up for each other for the challenges ahead.

2. When Democrats were in charge, we passed laws that supercharged manufacturing, created energy tax credits that all Americans can use, and expanded health care to reduce prescription drug prices.
