Happy to announce that Harris County was awarded a Department of Justice grant to create a positive learning environment in Alief Independent School District! I was glad to support the county in the grant process for funds that will expand services to reduce violence in our schools.
Did you know? During disasters, Congressional offices are restricted from referring people to non-governmental resources, like nonprofit shelters, food banks, or the Red Cross. Congressman Morgan Luttrell and I have requested a rule change so we can better help our constituents.
The RISEE Act, which I introduced in the House, will bring federal revenue from wind power to coastal states, like Texas, for coastal restoration and infrastructure projects. Glad to see its passage through Senate committee applauded by the Pew Charitable Trusts. ➡️
