I have deep concerns about the establishment of the “Autonomous Warfare Command” center, with little clarity about the involvement of humans in day-to-day operations.

Trump’s war on Iran is putting the lives of servicemembers and civilians abroad at risk—AND it’s raising costs here in North Carolina.
Congress needs to pass a War Powers Resolution immediately and put an end to this senseless war.
Campaign spending has risen into the billions—this money would be much better spent supporting our communities. Congress needs to prioritize campaign finance legislation immediately that returns the power of the vote to the people.
I am cosponsoring @repsummerlee.bsky.social’s legislation to abolish Super PACs, and @ramirez.house.gov’s legislation to enact strict limits on PAC-candidate coordination.
As a former member of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools Board, I have seen firsthand the impact educators can have on children in our district.
I will continue to fight for proper funding in Congress to support these educators who help push our country forward.
Congratulations to Jason Johnson, the principal of Orange High School, for taking home the 2026 National Principal of the Year award!
Thank you for your dedication to uplifting public school students in our district and shaping our future generations for the better.

I’m glad that local leaders are taking this issue seriously, and I will continue to push for legislation to enact proper reporting requirements and regulations surrounding data centers to keep our communities safe.
I strongly support Orange County’s decision to implement a one-year moratorium on data centers.
Data centers hurt the environment, raise energy costs, and often tap into local grids without properly compensating local communities.

I’m sending my condolences to the loved ones of Congressman David Scott.
Congressman Scott was a champion for working families in Georgia for his over 20 years in Congress and beyond. He will be missed dearly, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
More than ever, it's critical that Congress legislate with the tyranny of this Administration in mind.
We can't turn a blind eye to NSPM-7 and these actions demonstrate that Congress must reject any FISA bill that allows the Trump Administration to surveil American citizens without a warrant.
This is part of Trump’s wider playbook to silence anyone who disagrees with him. Trump’s NSPM-7 memo, and the establishment of a mission center in accordance with that memo, explicitly lays out his goals of designating his opponents as “domestic terrorism” threats.

This Administration’s cruelty knows no limits—they are falsely accusing this organization of supporting the Ku Klux Klan and other racist groups. I’m proud to stand with the SPLC in this fight.
I am deeply concerned about Trump’s sham lawsuit against the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has long fought to dismantle white supremacy in the south.

I am proud to be an original cosponsor of @jayapal.house.gov's Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act to establish a wealth tax for those with above $50 million. This bill would generate over $6 trillion while keeping taxes the same for over 99.5% of all Americans.
In other words, it’s time to TAX THE RICH.
Republicans need to finally take responsibility for the harm they're causing to hardworking Americans instead of doubling-down on pushing hate and division.
The House GOP's establishment of a "Sharia-Free America Caucus" is a disgusting attempt to create fear surrounding our flourishing Muslim and Arab American communities.

These common-sense reforms are important steps for Congress to take.
We cannot afford to wait for a two-thirds majority to overturn Citizens United—Congress must address the inequities in our campaign finance system immediately.
I have also cosponsored @ramirez.house.gov's Stop Super PAC-Candidate Coordination Act to enact clear anti-coordination rules between candidates and Super PACs.
I am proud to announce that I have cosponsored @repsummerlee.bsky.social's Abolish Super PACs Act to stop the continued influence of big-money donors and billionaires in our elections.
Elections should be decided by votes, not money.

Recent changes to laws in Israel further emphasize the importance of ensuring U.S. taxpayer dollars do not further the well-documented mistreatment of Palestinian children and families living under Israeli military occupation.
