Tonight marks the start of Ramadan. I hope this holy month brings a renewed sense of faith, hope, and peace to the millions of Muslims celebrating in the U.S. and around the world. Ramadan Mubarak!
It was great meeting with El Centro Hispano NC to discuss immigration policy and the importance of civic participation.
It is my honor to be your partner in Congress, and I’m grateful for your steadfast advocacy and continued support for our Hispanic community in the Triangle region.
The United States must stand up for freedom and democracy, and we must show our unwavering support to Ukraine as it continues to defend its sovereignty against Putin’s aggression. (2/2)
It is absolutely shameful for President Trump and Vice President Vance to treat our democratic ally with such utter disrespect and disregard, all in order to seek favor with Vladimir Putin. (1/2)
As #BlackHistoryMonth comes to a close, I spoke on the House Floor to celebrate the rich contributions of Black Americans to our country, and the value of DEI initiatives and HBCUs.
This month is an important reminder of our resiliency, and what we have overcome & can achieve.

The Artemis Program will send humans to the Moon & beyond—efforts compromised by the threat of federal firings. In my first hearing as Ranking Member of the Space Subcommittee, I stood with NASA’s workforce & vowed not to stand for handing the keys to lunar exploration to China. youtu.be/iTUSHJNi2xw
I joined my Democrat Science Committee colleagues on the House floor to tell some of the stories we are hearing from federal workers who’ve been fired by President Trump and Elon Musk.
These people were carrying out critical work, and their stories matter. #sciencefirings

My office has been hearing reports of potential ICE raids throughout our community, including at places of worship.

BIG NEWS: I’m delighted to share that my office has helped return more than $2 million through casework to residents of #NC04!
If you are experiencing issues with a federal agency, we are here to help. Please don’t hesitate to give my office a call at 919-967-7924 if you need assistance.
Today, I made my easiest vote to date in Congress: I voted to protect Medicaid for millions of North Carolinians.
The American people will not forget Republican's unconscionable attempt to destroy this critical program in favor of tax cuts for the wealthy.
My full statement:
Has Trump's funding freeze or federal layoffs impacted you or a loved one? Your story matters and Democrats want to hear more. Share your experience through this new portal: democraticleader.house.gov/shareyourstory
Republicans are trying to strip Medicaid from 16 million Americans so that billionaires can keep even more money in their pockets.
I was proud to stand with my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues today to make it clear: we are voting no on this reckless budget proposal.
This week, the House is voting on a $1 trillion cut to Medicaid which provides health coverage to 2 million North Carolinians.
This is a betrayal of the American people, and I hope a few Republicans show some courage and finally join us in stopping this outrageous budget scheme.
Hey DOGE, this is what I did last week: I uncovered that NASA gave you access to confidential data.
NASA's response to our letter is disturbing and I will do everything in my power as Ranking Member of the Space Subcommittee to combat these illegal actions.

Today marks 3 years since Putin's brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.
Despite Trump's baseless lies and attempts to appease Russia, House Democrats will continue to stand for the Ukrainian people and their fight for freedom.
It was a pleasure to join Mayor Leonardo Williams’ 2025 State of the City Address last week.
Thank you for your tireless dedication to this city, and I’m excited to keep working together to ensure Durham’s growth and development.
On this day in 1956, Dr. King, Rosa Parks, and other key civil rights activists were arrested for leading the landmark Montgomery Bus Boycotts.
As we honor their courageous actions, we must continue their legacy and fight the injustices that continue to plague our society today.
I joined @ross.house.gov and @adams.house.gov in urging this administration to reconsider these drastic cuts that will have lasting impacts on our state. (2/2)
Trump's plan to cut Office of Community Planning and Development staff by 84% will cripple North Carolina's ability to rebuild homes and support businesses in the wake of Hurricane Helene. (1/2)
Reposted byCongresswoman Valerie Foushee
Cutting staff that administer aid for rebuilding homes and supporting small businesses in Western North Carolina is reprehensible, especially during this cold winter.
That's why @foushee.house.gov, @adams.house.gov, and I sent a letter to President Trump demanding his reckless plan does not happen.
