There’s no better way to spend a weekend than flipping pancakes with the Glendale Fire Department at Fire Service Day. I didn’t get into Congress for my pancake flipping skills – I’ve focused instead on getting the brave men and women of our fire department the resources they need to keep us safe.
Fraud is a scourge and stopping it should be a priority, but what Trump is doing won’t prevent fraud. This is his administration’s way of punishing Californians for standing up to his unpopular agenda. (1/2)
This week, Congressional Republicans could have spent their time working with us to help Americans afford groceries and pay their rent. Instead, they spent their time advancing a bill meant to demean trans youth. I voted no and urge them to focus on the real needs of Americans.
Although the investigation is ongoing, it appears that this was a targeted anti-Islamic hate crime. Our community must come together to reject all forms of violence, hatred and intolerance. Today and all days we stand alongside our Islamic brothers & sisters.
This is heartbreaking. Violence has no place in our society, but is especially heinous when directed at places of worship and where children are present. My thoughts go out to the many victims and their families. May their memories be as a blessing. www.latimes.com/california/l...
I’m cosponsoring the Universal School Meals Program Act because I believe that the wealthiest country on Earth has no excuse for letting its children go without food. (2/2)

Today is National Museum Day! CA-30 is home to some of the best museums in the world, many of which you can visit for free on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. What’s your favorite museum in the district?

Dealing with federal agencies might feel overwhelming, but my office is in your corner. Our mobile office hours are coming to the Edendale Branch Library on May 20th. Swing by between 12-3pm to get help with any federal agency you might be dealing with.

Our firefighters deserve a safe and seismically sound firehouse, and our community needs an emergency command center capable of dealing with modern emergencies. I secured a $500,000 federal investment to make both of those goals a reality for the aging Fire Station 8 in West Hollywood:
Cutting-edge tools can stop high speed crashes from harming innocent bystanders and drivers, but 94% of police pursuits end, often violently, without police having the opportunity to use safe termination technology. (1/2)
