Alexander N. Green is an American lawyer and politician serving as a U.S. representative from Texas's 9th congressional district since 2005. A member of the Democratic Party, Green served as the justice of the peace of Harris County, Texas from 1977 to 2004. Green is a member of the United States House Committee on Financial Services.

Before I was evicted from a joint session of Congress, I told Pres. Trump he had no mandate to cut Medicaid, Medicare, or SS. I stand now, where I stood then, to keep these essential services from being gutted to line the pockets of billionaires. #TrumpsGovernmentShutdown
FEMA leader David Richardson's ham-handed approach to disaster relief is painfully unacceptable. During the recent flooding in Texas, he was reportedly unreachable for 24 hours and has joked about deliberately delaying aid to Democratic-led states. He must be held accountable.
