If Congress doesn't reauthorize the Secure Rural Schools program, rural schools, roads, and trades programs will face devastating cuts.
I'm fighting to extend SRS, because our kids shouldn't suffer due to senseless federal inaction or their Zip Code.

I’m working with the Blue Dog Coalition to put loyalty to place above party politics.
On the 30th anniversary of the Coalition, hear how we’re planning to get stuff done ⬇️
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
This #ValentinesDay,
I've got cards just for you 💌
I appreciate students at Evergreen Public Schools who shared their projects with pride – and we’re lucky to have dedicated educators equipping our young people with skills they’ll carry for life.
We need to invest in trades pathways so students can build skills sooner and find family-wage jobs out of HS or trade school. There's real demand for these opportunities. ⬇️
The Blue Dogs are a core part of fixing our politics and delivering common-sense, fiscally responsible results for #WA03.
I’m excited to carry this work forward, and I’m eager to work with anyone serious about fighting for what’s worth having and not just settling for the status quo.
I've now helped bring home more than $32.6 million for our PUDs to invest in rural broadband and clean water and wastewater infrastructure across Southwest Washington.
See investments near you:
I met with Southwest Washington's PUDs to see how I can best support their hard work keeping our homes heated and water clean.
By bringing up the next generation of skilled tradespeople, we'll be able to address much-needed projects that keep rates down for #WA03 families.
Glad I could finally shirk off this ugly painting – but even more grateful to have fantastic bipartisan partners in our state to get stuff done. 🐣
I appreciate the Wahkiakum County Sheriff's Office and Commissioner Strong for taking me out on the water and sharing their rich knowledge of the area's history and flood impacts – and I'll keep looking for ways to assist in Congress.
Rosburg and Grays River experience devastating flooding – and I'm glad I could help secure a federal flooding assessment after Congress long failed to act. ⬇️
I’ve now helped bring back home more than $12.9 million for water and wastewater projects across Southwest Washington.

3 out of 4 fire hydrants on Puget Island don't have adequate water flow, so I secured funds for an alternate water source – without a rise in rates.
Wahkiakum PUD has a small but mighty team that takes pride in doing great work – it was cool to see their work firsthand as the project gets underway.
We had a great discussion about ways to ensure regs make sense for independent operators and more young people have needed skills for these careers as the workforce ages.
Harvesting and moving timber is how we prevent wildfire, build houses, and support family-wage jobs.
Hearing from log truck operators, industry declines and excessive red tape make it difficult to run small, family operations, much less get one started. ⬇️
Had a great roundtable with Southwest Washington log truck drivers to hear what’s on their mind and how I can assist on the federal level.
We need to make it easier for more young people to get started in these careers and ensure regs actually make sense for independent operators.
Wahkiakum PUD has broken ground on an alternate water source for Puget Island!
By bringing home federal funds for this project, we're avoiding a rise in utility rates to get it done.
Glad I could see their amazing work firsthand to ensure folks can access clean, reliable water.
It was inspiring to speak with some incredibly sharp, community-minded service academy nominees and student leaders in FFA and ASB.
Glad I could hear about what matters most to them, including about local education, forestry, and providing pathways to succeed after high school.
