For 30 years, House Blue Dogs have been a crucial voice for promoting fiscal responsibility in Congress & played a key role in enacting Democratic accomplishments such as the #ACA & the #IRA. It's been an honor to work closely with the Coalition & I look forward to continuing our work together.
Since Valentine's Day 1995, Blue Dogs have focused on commonsense values like national security & fiscal sustainability, and core Democratic priorities like strong Social Security, health care & unions.
Republicans want to explode the deficit while using the tax dollars of hard-working Americans to fund tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations. Democrats will continue mobilizing against these maneuvers and working to lower costs for working families.
After a 12-hour markup where Democrats fought to stop them, Republicans passed a budget that betrays the middle class. Their plan steals from working families while delivering a $4.5 TRILLION giveaway to their billionaire donors. Democrats will fight this Republican Rip Off.
Thank you to all who participated in #MD05's Valentines for Vets! My office delivered hundreds of cards to Veterans at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home and the Walter Reed Medical Center. I am proud to continue showing appreciation to & serving those who have served our country.
Thank you to all who tuned into my Virtual Town Hall with @repsarahelfrethh.bsky.social. I also want to thank Rob Shriver & @skyeperryman.bsky.social of @democracyforward.org for their leadership in the legal battles at hand and for providing additional guidance for federal employees.

There you have it. Every Republican on the Budget Committee just exposed our middle class to higher costs, Medicaid recipients to benefit cuts, and gutted programs that feed kids. All this betrayal to cut taxes for their billionaire friends. That’s it, that’s the headline.
Pete Hegseth’s comments at the UDCG meeting earlier this week severely undermine the West’s mission to support Ukraine in this war. We need to give Ukraine everything it needs to ensure its survival & security of Europe, America, & the free world. hoyer.house.gov/media/press-...
The NATO alliance has been a pillar of global security for 75 years. I joined @meeks.house.gov, @keating.house.gov, and @connolly.house.gov to introduce a Resolution to reaffirm our commitment to NATO and make it clear that we will continue standing with our allies. hoyer.house.gov/media/press-...
I thank WSSC Water and local leaders for working diligently to restore safe drinking water to our region and assisting Prince Georgians in the impacted areas.
WSSC Water has lifted the boil water advisory for southern Prince George's County. I urge all Prince Georgians to take final precautions before consuming or using water at home. Click here to view water station locations & additional instructions: www.wsscwater.com/bwa
Trump claimed he would lower costs – he has not delivered. Instead, Elon Musk and his gang of DOGE hackers are gutting programs that make job training affordable for working-class Americans. Join me and @democrats-appropriations.house.gov today: youtu.be/mnkppvqUnuk
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Beverly Byron, former Congresswoman of Maryland's 6th District. It was an honor to serve alongside Beverly, whose fierce dedication to public service and Western Maryland inspired many. My prayers are with the Byron family at this time.
