Small businesses are the backbone of New Mexico’s economy. Yesterday, I met with Councilor Nichole Rogers, the New Mexico Black Chamber of Commerce, and Black business leaders to hear directly how I can support them as their businesses grow and thrive.
We build the next generation of leaders by providing young people with opportunity. That's why I support programs like the State Department’s Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange. It was great to meet with two NM students who completed the program and hear about their experience.

One of the largest clean energy projects in U.S. history is now online–and it’s a milestone more than 18 years in the making. I’ve been fighting for it since I first came to Congress because I knew what it would mean for our energy future and New Mexico’s role in leading it.
LA Times headline reads: After nearly two decades, this massive New Mexico wind project is now powering California.
Republicans jammed a repeal of the Roadless Rule into a bipartisan wildfire bill, putting millions of acres of public lands at risk without public input. I'm joining @heinrich.senate.gov in fighting back. We won't let Republicans sneak this through without a fight. Make your voice heard.
Senate Republicans created a Trojan Horse to repeal the Roadless Rule. We need to raise our voices to push back!
Bison are a critical part of our culture in New Mexico. It’s been ten years since my National Bison Legacy Act named Bison as our official National Mammal. I was proud to lead that effort and am still fighting to conserve this amazing species. 📸: © Thomas Szajner / WWF-US
This is the opposite of the program's intent. I know, because I wrote it. With energy prices skyrocketing, why would the Department of Energy make it harder for households to save around $1,000 annually?
Being an AmeriCorps volunteer inspired my career in public service. I'm proud to recognize New Mexicans’ service to their community and inspire the next generation to leave their mark by introducing a resolution designating today National Service and Conservation Corps Day.
Workers at USW Local 9477 have raised safety concerns about proposed changes and new regulations at WIPP that should be taken seriously. I am looking into these changes and have pressed the Department of Energy for answers to ensure that workers’ concerns are treated with the urgency they deserve.
