We have Trump and House Republicans to thank for all the airport chaos right now. Instead of working with Democrats to fund airport security and disaster aid, they're using American travelers as political pawns to keep ICE unchecked and pass their insane bill to take away your right to vote.
Health care costs are skyrocketing due to Republicans' cuts in the Big, Ugly Law. Meanwhile, Trump’s war of choice in Iran is costing American taxpayers at least $1 billion per day. Our priority should be making life better for Americans, not fighting forever wars abroad.
Democrats lowered health care costs by an average of $2,400 per family through the Affordable Care Act. But Republicans slashed that coverage for over 20 million Americans to pay for billionaire tax breaks. You deserve better, and Republicans need to help us reinstate these credits immediately.
For months, RFK Jr. has been pushing debunked conspiracy theories as government policy – and thankfully the federal courts just stepped in to block his crusade against vaccines for kids. House Republicans are still enabling him, but on #TheFlipSide, here's what I'm doing to protect public health.
Gas prices are up 32% this month thanks to Trump's war in Iran, and American drivers are struggling. We need this administration to come up with some concrete, sensible plans to get us out of this mess they caused.
We're over two weeks into a reckless war in Iran, and Trump has introduced no meaningful plan to protect our national security interests. 13 service members have died, billions of taxpayer dollars have been spent, and this administration still has no clear strategy to bring this conflict to an end.
We're seeing more and more e-bikes in our communities, but there are insufficient federal standards to keep pedestrians, bicyclists, and kids safe. I joined Rep. Dave Min in introducing the Safe SPEEDS Act to set real safety standards, improve data, and respond to this growing challenge.
Thanks to the incredible staff at the Mendocino Community Health Clinic (MCHC) in Willits for showing me your facility and giving me a glimpse into the care you provide for our community.
Our communities in the North Coast are enduring wildfires year-round, and we need a bigger, fully trained firefighting workforce to combat this growing crisis. This week, we celebrated $20 million in new funds for Mendocino College to invest in fire technology, training, and more.
Trump's health care cuts are skyrocketing insurance premiums, stripping health coverage from millions, and closing rural hospitals. I was glad to host a town hall this week and hear from people in our community. We won’t stop fighting to ensure every American has access to affordable healthcare.
New: Democrats asked a federal court to block Trump's 250-ft arch. Under law, Congress must approve certain monuments in DC. “This is a straightforward issue of who’s in charge,” @SenAngusKing said. They also mocked the "vanity" project. “This is not Pyongyang,” @RepHuffman told me.
Join me on Tuesday, March 10 in Santa Rosa for a health care town hall with Congressman Jared Huffman and State Senator Mike McGuire. We’ll discuss the rising cost of health care, efforts to lower costs for families, and the path forward for universal coverage.
Our troops are being told that war with Iran is part of a biblical prophecy for Armageddon that Trump was anointed by God to carry out. This is what happens when Christian Nationalism infiltrates the government. And people are dying because of it.
Standing up for our climate and environmental justice is one of my biggest priorities in Congress – everyone deserves clean air and water, affordable clean energy, and healthy public lands. I'm honored I got 100% on this year's @lcv.org Scorecard, and I’ll keep working to earn one every year!
It is another alarming abuse of power that Congress must confront, and unfortunately another blow to America’s credibility and goodwill on the global stage, which Trump has made it virtually impossible for any nation to negotiate and pursue diplomacy with the United States.
