I know many of you are already feeling the impacts of the Republican shutdown, and I assure you my team and I are here to help.
We want to hear how this chaos is impacting you on the ground, so please share your story here: huffman.house.gov/how-the-trum...
Our service members already sacrifice so much for our country — they shouldn't have to give up their paychecks too.
Trump and Republicans couldn't care less — they are threatening to take away their pay by extending this shutdown and refusing to compromise on basic health care policy.
The Republican shutdown has furloughed 750,000 federal workers, limited millions’ food assistance, & created a full-blown health care crisis.
Yet Trump is using it as an opportunity to deploy the National Guard to Democratic cities & revoke funding for affordable energy projects in our communities.
We’re now a WEEK into the government shutdown, and Republicans are still dug in.
They've gone on vacations and canceled another week of work in D.C.
Republicans need to get back to Washington and help Democrats end this disaster once and for all.
Americans are already facing higher bills because of Trump’s war on clean energy – and now he’s twisting the knife even deeper by cutting $8 billion in projects designed to lower electricity costs.
Over 160 Democrats and I are demanding that DOE Secretary Wright immediately reinstate the projects.
As the Republican government shutdown continues, I was glad to host a town hall in Crescent City over the weekend and answer #CA02 constituents' questions regarding what's going on.
You can watch the full town hall at the link below.
Trump's weaponization of the National Guard against our communities has nothing to do with public safety – it's all about expanding power and intimidating anyone who disagrees.
This is appalling and un-American.
Time and time again, Trump has tried to bully Americans and our government into submission — but House Democrats refuse to bend to his whims amid the government shutdown.
We’re on the edge of a health care cliff because Republicans refuse to negotiate – their solution was to shut down the government. I'm demanding they work with Democrats to save health care and prevent any further harm to American families.
Trump’s $1.2 billion cuts to affordable clean energy projects are insane. And one of them is in our own district.
Cutting this project will drive up energy bills for nearly every household in our state. It's reckless, vindictive, and going to hurt a lot of Americans.
This was a peaceful, humanitarian mission by civilians & volunteers—including one of my constituents. It's imperative the people involved in this aid effort are treated safely, lawfully, and released. Israel and the international community must prioritize humanitarian assistance to Gaza immediately.
California's national parks grow our economy, preserve our environment, and strengthen local education and community.
But now the Republican shutdown has temporarily closed Muir Woods, and people in #CA02 are already paying the price for Trump's recklessness and chaos.
Republicans are spitting insane lies to cover up their shutdown.
So let's get the facts straight: undocumented immigrants cannot and do not get covered by ACA or Medicaid.
Democrats are fighting to save affordable health care for hardworking Americans, period.
Trump would rather shut down the government than give up his scheme to slash your health care.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social and I refuse to bend to a budget that doubles health care premiums, funds tax cuts for billionaires, and dismantles the government.
Speaker Johnson shut down the government instead of negotiating to save health care.
Now he's saying this is a BENEFIT because Trump can grab more power.
Shutting down the government and robbing people of services is never a good thing. Disgusting.
🚨🚨🚨 Republicans shut down the government, and I know many of you may be wondering what that means for you.
My team and I have compiled resources to keep you informed and up-to-date as the shutdown continues to develop:

Republicans control the government and refused to negotiate.
They own this shutdown.
They're cutting healthcare and abandoning our national parks.
They wanted this.
Starting TONIGHT, Republicans are choosing to shut down our government instead of negotiating to save health care. Their damaging agenda is out of control, and I assure you we are doing everything we can to stop them.
