“But the Weasley’s are poor” yes and? This is about class not wealth
“Why are there so few people in the wizarding universe” there aren’t, it’s just every single character is a wild elitist and doesn’t even think the working class are worth mentioning
I like this because it also fits with one of the only ways to make the Harry Potter universe consistent: the entire series is presented through the eyes of the wizard equivalent of the sort of aristo who doesn’t really think people who didn’t go to Eton exist
We just gotta post through it Charlie
White people are in fact like that
A friend went round to his neighbours’ for Eid last night and apparently the wife slightly panicked about hosting white people because she disappeared for a couple of minutes and came back with half a pint of whisky for him. This, to me, is multiculturalism
No no I think 50k is a perfect number actually
“We responded to an oil shortage by spending billions paying people to use more oil”
This is so bad lmao
Spain moving early, according to this report:
• cutting VAT on fuel products to 10% from 21%
• suspending excise duty on hydrocarbons
• remove 5% tax on electricity consumption
Ministers say high renewable energy output will shield Spain from oil price spikes.

Not feeling grait about the strait
We did it. We defeated Mandelbrot
Have a take that will make everyone shout at me so I’m going to go to bed instead
The BBC should explain how it ensured the freelancer it commissioned this piece from would feel safe and supported to write an article with the opposite conclusion if that was how the reporting shook out.
It mentions, 50 paragraphs in, that the country has charged people for sharing videos. Even then, it describes it only as a ban on “undermining or criticising the state or its leadership” and on “sharing unverified footage”.
This piece should surely have a disclaimer that its author and interview subjects risk jail time if they write or say that things are bad www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
