100 days into this administration and working people are still getting left behind. Our costs are up, our services are gutted and our rights are under attack. We need a gov that works for us—not just the wealthy. Every American deserves a fair shot and a voice that counts, and I’m not backing down.
"Together on this Workers’ Memorial Day, let us ensure that our members who lost their lives due to unsafe workplaces have not died in vain." @shawnfainuaw.bsky.social
On Workers Memorial Day, we remember those who have tragically died on the job and reflect on the state of safety and health protections in our country. A safe workplace is a fundamental right, and we’ll keep fighting until that’s a reality for EVERY worker.
There were 5,283 workplace fatalities and 135,304 who died from occupational disease in 2023, but the Trump admin and their DOGE are putting all workers at greater risk by enacting policies that create dangerous working conditions.
Rep. Val Hoyle hosted a town hall in Eugene, Oregon, yesterday to address constituents’ concerns about the Trump administration’s assault on Social Security. She was joined by former Rep. Peter DeFazio and our president & CEO, Max Richtman. @repvalhoyle.bsky.social #socialsecurity #trump #townhall
14 years ago in a senseless act of violence, we lost a giant of a man who was just doing his duty, protecting and serving our community. Officer Chris Kilcullen was kind, smart and dedicated. His life was tragically cut short but won’t be forgotten. #RIP
Pope Francis was known as the People's Pope for his humility, humanity, and dedication to a life of service. These people would have sent the Lord and Savior himself to jail for his work on behalf of the poor and suffering. There are no other words for it other than sick and depraved.
This administration continues to assault Social Security, but these are EARNED benefits, and we won't let them disappear. This Wednesday, I am hosting a townhall to hear from you. I hope you'll join me in person or on our YouTube live stream.
Last night, an Umpqua Community College student and coach were killed and many were injured in an accident on the way back from a softball game in Coos Bay. This is an unspeakable tragedy and our community is grieving. My team and I are in touch with UCC and will continue to support however we can.
I was grateful to join Senator @jeff-merkley.bsky.social at his town halls in Brookings, North Bend, & Reedsport. From the anger about the illegal detention of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to fears about the robbery of our earned benefits, it is clear Americans aren’t taking this lying down. #BRINGHIMHOME
AFL-CIO President @lizshuler.bsky.social joined the @steelworkers.bsky.social for their Constitutional Convention, encouraging workers to stay united, fight together, and go all in on solidarity in this critical moment for labor. ✊
My bill, the Vote at Home Act, expands Oregon's proven election system, nationwide. It's about putting the power in your hands to vote when & how you want. Still wanna vote in-person? Do it! Wanna vote by mail & have more time to study your options? You can do that too! YOUR vote, YOUR choice.
