The day I decide I'm done with social media, I'm going to exit with my head held high, simply by choosing the worst possible post to reply to with "lolol."
This is creepy! (I mean, even creepier.) bsky.app/profile/a-be...
There are actually five of them, but something went wrong in the lab and the fifth is just a hand who lives on the shoulder of the fourth.
I can't be sure, but...I think this is advertising a chance for a five-way with elderly quadruplets?

No professional accomplishment has ever made me happier than this.

I'm not claiming this as a big win for Democrats. But a confirmation is something Trump wanted and to find himself backed into a place where he's given Democrats a giant gift to campaign on--he'd rather die than give up his sweet tax deal--feels like a blunder.
The thing I wish that more Democrats and threatened universities and vilified news organizations understood better about Trump is this: He never has a second move.

It was just a day-block. Penalty box for a bad-faith response.
I wish someone would do it for me!
I absolutely love both the dumb and the snobbish rage reactions to this whenever he does it. As well as the faux-knowing "He has someone do this for him." You are, as the expression goes, telling on yourselves.
Some good books here. Happy reading!
Just 1 more Odyssey thing: For the curious, here's the LRB podcast with Emily Wilson, which I found interesting. There's a British tradition of being savage in print and less so in person. This is EW with a still-critical but more easygoing (and of course erudite) take. www.lrb.co.uk/podcasts-and...
Honestly laughing out loud that 88-year-old shit-stirring Olympian Joyce Carol Oates looked up in the sky, saw the Batsignal, and headed to her laptop. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...
They were in different roles--but yes, it would have been!
(It was.)
Remembering the time I went to the Boy George musical Taboo and they announced that Boy George, who was in it, was out that day. The audience moaned. The show started, the great Raúl Esparza came out, looked at the crowd, and ad-libbed in character, "Oh shaddup, it's better when he's not in it." >
I would have written more but I was having trouble focusing.
