Slapping steep import taxes on our allies might sound tough, but it’s working families, small businesses, and seniors who’ll pay the price at the pump, the grocery store, and the pharmacy. We need a smart, transparent trade strategy that strengthens America’s economy without crushing consumers.
We cannot normalize this Administration’s cruelty towards immigrants. Reports of the conditions in the so-called “Alligator Alcatraz” facility in Florida are beyond troubling. We can enforce our nation’s immigration laws without treating those in detention so inhumanely. We are better than this.
Trump’s Big Ugly Bill is cruel and dangerous. Nearly a quarter million of Marylanders are at risk of losing access to insulin, cancer treatment, mental health care — real lives, real consequences. I will vote NO.
The Senate GOP just passed Trump’s disastrous Big Ugly Bill, which will take away healthcare coverage for millions of Americans so that the wealthy can get another tax cut. That includes over 200,000 Marylanders. It is simply unconscionable. I will vote NO on this disastrous legislation.
This decision is deeply troubling & potentially threatens the rights of Americans across this country. President Trump’s attempt to revoke birthright citizenship is unconstitutional. The 14th Amendment makes clear that if you are born in the United States, you are a citizen of the United States.
Honored to welcome rising 8th graders from Prince George’s County Public Schools through the Close-Up Foundation’s Civic Leaders program. Their passion and curiosity are a powerful reminder that the future is bright when we invest in civic education and lift up young voices.
The Trump administration’s so-called DOGE agency is scrapping over 50 ATF rules, making it easier for gun traffickers and violent criminals to slip through the cracks. From Prince George’s County to every corner of the country, we need stronger enforcement—not weaker rules.
Republicans claimed the Inflation Reduction Act would hurt working families. The truth? It empowered the IRS to go after wealthy tax cheats. Now Trump wants to gut IRS staff so billionaires can keep dodging taxes while everyday Americans lose access to basic help.
This outrageous, partisan decision will make it harder for Americans to receive critical health care services & put health centers at risk of closure. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are committed to fighting back and protecting the life-saving health care Republicans seek to take away.
Cuts to Maryland’s federal workforce threaten families, services, and our state’s entire economic foundation. With nearly 160,000 federal jobs & 10,000 probationary roles at risk, these actions would devastate communities and cripple essential programs. Marylanders deserve security—not uncertainty.
During the Appropriations hearing with AG Pam Bondi, I stood with Moms Demand Action to oppose the Trump administration’s cuts to gun‑inspector roles—because when inspections fail, our children's safety is at risk. Thank you @wusa9.com.web.brid.gy for capturing our united effort.
Three years post-Roe v. Wade, we fight harder than ever. People—not politicians—should have the freedom to make their own health care decisions. @reprocaucus.bsky.social and @housedemocrats.bsky.social are for every American’s right to reproductive freedom & abortion access, wherever they live.
