I joined the American Kidney Fund, constituents, & community leaders in Largo over the weekend for a town hall to learn about kidney disease & prevention. As a Kidney Cancer survivor, I know that awareness and prevention is critical to keeping people alive. #KidneyAwarenessMonth
I am saddened to hear of the passing of former Labor Secretary, Alexis Herman. As the first Black individual to serve in this position, Herman was a trailblazer & deemed a “skillful and creative administrator” by former President Bill Clinton who nominated her. 🕊️ 📷: Joe Marquette/Associated Press
My answer: ✅Waste federal dollars by firing and rehiring essential federal employees. ✅Fraudently gain access to sensitive government data and systems. ✅Abuse career civil servants through illegal firings. DOGE isn't a real government agency, it is a real-life example of waste, fraud, and abuse.
It is heartbreak for football fans in Prince George’s to see the Commanders leave to DC… I am sure the Harris group will be good corporate citizens and develop the spaces adjacent the old FedEx site for the good of the community and to increase the value of the real estate holdings in the County.
Thank you for your continued leadership @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and @booker.senate.gov 🙌🏾‼️ These conversations with Americans during their sit-in yesterday showed that the people are AGAINST Republicans taking food from children, healthcare from the sick, and dignity from those struggling.
Just sat down on the Capitol Steps with my good friend @booker.senate.gov to have a real conversation about the dangerous situation we confront in America. And what we can all do to stop it. Tune in live: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBej...
Recently, I hosted a press conference on cuts to Social Security services & programs. Staffing cuts hurt real people. @housedemocrats.bsky.social continue to fight for people that are drastically impacted by the cuts to Social Security.
Arresting a judge is a very dangerous step, especially when the Trump administration is calling for federal judge’s to be impeached—simply because they disagree with a ruling—and defying Supreme Court orders. I continue to call on the Trump administration to respect due process and the rule of law.
Breaking News: FBI Director Kash Patel said that agents arrested a Wisconsin county judge and accused her of obstructing immigration enforcement, a major escalation in the Trump administration’s battle with local authorities over deportations.
President Trump's reign of economic chaos continues. President Trump's misleading statements about his economic policies continue. You know what else hasn't stopped? YOU having to pay higher prices every time you go to the grocery store.
This is your reminder to join me and the American Kidney Foundation tomorrow at noon at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center (901 Harry S. Trueman Dr, Largo, MD) for an awareness event on kidney disease. Please view the flyer below for more information.
Corrected Post: A Trump-appointed federal judge has ruled that the Trump Administration has wrongfully deported another man. The US judicial system allows immigrants the right to due process. These mistakes would be prevented if this Administration stopped denying people of their rights.
Recently, I was featured on DC News Now to discuss my journey with kidney disease. Often times, early stages show no symptoms. That’s why getting early screening is crucial. A simple test can save your kidneys and your life. 💚 #KidneyAwarenessMonth. #EarlyScreening #KidneyHealth
With an already massive backlog of cases, firing immigration judges won’t make our border more secure, increase deportations, or make our immigration system function more efficiently. It will actually do the opposite. Congress must push back on these efforts.
1 in 7 people in the US have chronic kidney disease. This is why I'm hosting a town hall with the American Kidney Fund on Saturday, April 26 from 12PM-1:30PM. Please view the flyer below for more information.
