Last week, I joined Fox5 to discuss the illegal deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Following President Trump stating he had no plans to return Abrego Garcia to the US, I led 150 of my Democratic House colleagues to sign onto a letter demanding Abrego Garcia's return.
Gun violence continues to harm communities across our nation, with the latest example being the shooting at Florida State University last week. As always with the Administration, it's about dismantling critical funding to score political points, even at the expense of our children’s safety.
🌍 On this 55th Earth Day, I reaffirm my commitment to a sustainable future. The Trump administration has rolled back environmental regulations and is promoting fossil fuels. We must continue to stand together to champion green energy. #EarthDay#OurPowerOurPlanet
Huge congratulations to Bishop McNamara Graduates Madison Scott and Liatu King for being selected in the WNBA draft last night! When it comes to basketball, one thing is for sure, Prince George’s is Basketball County!! ‼️End of Discussion. Way to go ladies! 🏀👏🏽
I commend Harvard University for standing up to the Trump administration’s efforts to bully academic institutions, by filing suit in federal court yesterday. Universities across the country should follow Harvard's lead and present a united front against Trump's assault on higher education.
Nonpartisan federal workers have dedicated their careers to public service and delivering critical services for the American people - no matter who is in the White House. President Trump is threatening the health, education, and well-being of our communities by putting cronyism over competence.
On Saturday, I joined @theWeekend to discuss President Trump’s disregard for Supreme Court rulings & absurd & likely illegal proposal to send imprisoned US citizens to jails in El Salvador. As the only convicted felon living in public housing, he clearly thinks that he is above the law.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth continues to prove that he is not fit for the job. National security is not a partisan ideal—it is a solemn responsibility. There must be accountability. The American people deserve transparency, not recklessness. He must be fired. www.cnn.com/2025/04/20/p...
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Pope Francis. He was a global symbol of compassion, humility, and unwavering faith. My deepest condolences to the Catholic community around the world. May he rest in peace. 🕊️ 📷: Vincenzo Pinto/AFP/Getty Images
It is clear, President Trump has no respect for the rule of law and thinks that he is above it. No one is. The legal profession must stand together with the general public and fight back against the President's attack on our constitutionally protected system of legal representation.
I am proud to have the support of so many of my Democratic colleagues in demanding that the Trump Administration return Kilmar to the U.S. immediately. When those in power trample on due process rights and disregard the rule of law, it threatens the rights and freedoms of all Americans.
Thanks to @vanhollen.senate.gov for his leadership in the case of our constituent, Mr. Abrego Garcia. I plan to do a welfare check on my constituent in El Salvador next month. I want to be able to tell his wife & kids that their Dad is okay. #NotAboveTheLaw #DueProcess
I had the opportunity to engage with seniors in my district at Riderwood Community Center and hear about the issues that are most important to them- the economy, cuts at SSA, food prices and so much more. Seniors across my district can be assured that I am fighting for them, not billionaires.
