“What happened to me was a flagrant violation of my Constitutional rights.”
Patty O’Keefe was violently detained for legally observing ICE activity in her neighborhood. She deserves accountability from the DHS.
The day before Kristi Noem was fired, I confronted her about DHS wrongfully detaining American citizens, some of whom were sitting right behind her.
I’m grateful for their voices and the continued work of UnidosMN. This fight is far from over — I’m not stopping.
These are letters and drawings from children at the Dilley Detention Center in Texas.
Trump isn’t going after the “worst of the worst.” He’s going after kids — who should be home, in school, and playing with their friends.
This is absolutely heartbreaking — and it must end.
Congratulations to Brandi Carlile for being named one of Time magazine’s 2026 Women of the Year!
Thank you for always using your voice to fight for justice — for women, for immigrants, and for everyone in this country.
DHS is using violent and unnecessary force against people across this country who are exercising their First Amendment rights.
Trump said he would be going after the “worst of the worst” in immigration enforcement. We know that is not true.
All of this as they continue their Epstein cover-up, protecting predators.
WOW. The money we’re spending for war with Iran could help every family who needs health care and food assistance.
While working people suffer, we’re spending BILLIONS on another forever war.
March is Women’s History Month — a time to honor and celebrate the contributions of women in our communities and across the globe.
At a moment Trump and his DOJ is silencing survivors and attempting to strip women of their rights, we must continue our fight for justice.
FACTS:
92,000 jobs LOST last month.
Unemployment INCREASED to 4.4%.
27 cent SPIKE in gas prices.
Trump is ignoring the needs of people here at home, meanwhile he’s undertaking illegal wars in Iran and around the world that cost billions of taxpayer dollars.
The Trump administration gave $1.2 billion to a company with ZERO experience in detention management, and it unsurprisingly had a disastrous result.
This facility, as well as every private, for-profit detention facility, needs to be closed.
Prosecutors are losing key witnesses in criminal cases because they are getting deported by this administration.
The lawlessness of ICE and CBP makes us all less safe.
Over the last year, the Trump administration has gone after free speech they disagree with, including revoking student visas for criticizing the Israeli government.
This is blatantly unconstitutional. The First Amendment applies to EVERYONE in the United States.
You can’t say you believe in free speech when you only apply it to certain people and not others.
The First Amendment has to apply across the board.
The US maximum pressure campaign on Cuba is a cruel and failing policy that has caused incredible harm to the Cuban people. Venezuela is a clear example that Trump doesn't care about democracy or civil society. This is just a plain attempt to open up Cuban markets to his billionaire buddies.
President Trump told CNN that Cuba 'is going to fall pretty soon' in a phone interview while touting US military success in his second term. https://cnn.it/3OV2kKO
NEW POD: I sat down with Trita Parsi, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of the Quincy Institute, to talk about Trump’s illegal and unconstitutional war with Iran.

While Trump and his billionaire buddies are raking in money, Americans are struggling to find jobs.
This is the Republican economy.
Republicans today voted against my amendment to protect funding for state and local authorities to go after predators who perpetrate sexual assault, human trafficking and domestic violence.
I introduced an amendment to ensure states and localities have access to essential funds that combat human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual abuse –– regardless of local immigration enforcement policies.
Republicans blocked it.
Trump’s war in Iran is clearly a war of choice, not necessity. Congress alone has the power to declare war, not the President. Today, I voted yes to reassert Congress’s authority.
My full statement on the failed Iran War Powers Resolution vote:
Instead of addressing DHS’s deadly abuses, Republicans are taking up a bill to force state and local law enforcement to help round up immigrants by threatening to cut off funding if they do not comply.
This does not make our communities safer.
