I’ve now been notified of another death in ICE custody — the 26th since Trump took office in January.
We need oversight, accountability, and justice. I will keep fighting for the dignity of immigrants in Trump’s horrific detention centers.
Dr. Badar Khan Suri was unjustly detained and disappeared and experienced absolutely horrific treatment while in ICE detention.
Listen to his story:
WA: Ongoing major flooding across the Northern Cascades and Puget Sound regions is expected to worsen, potentially reaching record levels this week.

The President is clearly very unwell.
I’m still fighting to hold Trump accountable for inciting an insurrection and trying to overthrow our democracy.
My January 6th lawsuit is the final opportunity in the courts to ensure Trump faces consequences, so nothing like this ever happens again. www.huffpost.com/entry/lawmak...
Trump’s "big economy speech" last night was full of NOTHING.
No new policies. No new benefits for families. Just telling people that everything is amazing when we can see with our own two eyes that it’s not.
It’s a complete betrayal of the American people.
More than two dozen Members of Congress showed up to my fifth shadow hearing on the horrific conditions in Trump’s ICE detention centers.
Thank you to everyone who spoke up — we will continue to shine a light on this injustice and inhumanity.
WA-07: I’m hosting a telephone town hall tomorrow, Dec. 10th at 6:00 PM PT! Join me for an update on what’s going on in the other Washington, and how I’m fighting for you!
I just came off the House floor after signing the discharge petition to ban members of Congress from trading stocks.
If you want to trade stocks, go to Wall Street. We must bring this bill to the floor to make sure the people know we’re working for them.
Always a joy to take a few minutes and respond to my constituents with a few handwritten notes. Thank you all so much for staying engaged, asking questions, and making your voices heard to protect our democracy!
A consistent theme of the Trump administration — letting giant corporations who screw over Americans walk away without facing any consequences.
Trump is for the billionaires, not for you. www.cnbc.com/2025/12/06/t...
Trump gives his economy an “A+++++” and says “don’t be dramatic” when a reporter suggests that families might be worried about buying holiday presents and budgeting for next year.
He couldn’t care less about Americans that are struggling.
Trump and Republicans are doing everything in their power to shut down legal pathways for immigration — and are now even going after dual citizens!
These short-sighted and xenophobic policies are only going to hurt our communities and our economy.
ICYMI: Last week, I hosted a Shadow Hearing to expose the Trump administration’s horrific immigrant detention abuses.
The public deserves to know what’s happening inside these facilities. I’m fighting for the truth. americasvoice.org/blog/ice-con...
I’ve been notified of two more deaths in ICE custody in the last 24 hours — meaning that 25 people have now died in detention since Trump returned to office.
That’s the most in more than two decades. The cruelty and inhumanity of this administration must end.
SEATTLE: Heavy winds and rain are continuing throughout this week, with potential floods. Here are some resources and information on how to prepare yourself and your home:

The American people have been clear: they are not okay with Trump’s cruel kidnappings and disappearances of immigrants across the country.
Congress must hear their pleas to push back against this lawlessness and pass my Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act.
This is absolutely horrifying.
The United States must push for an arms embargo on Sudan, work to get more aid into the country, and use our power and leverage to save countless lives. www.bbc.com/news/article...
73% of people detained by ICE have NO CRIMINAL RECORD.
The Trump admin is throwing every immigrant they can find into detention centers, many of which have reports of denied medical care, rotten food, and unsanitary conditions.
It is not okay and we cannot allow it to continue.
The right-wing Supreme Court majority is planning to hand Trump even more power — destroying our checks & balances and putting democracy in danger.
America doesn’t have kings. We cannot let this authoritarian administration take over the entire government. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...
