These are just a handful of the countless stories I’ve received from my constituents about how their health care costs are skyrocketing, thanks to Trump and Republicans. People across the country are going to get sicker and poorer — all so billionaires can get a tax break.
WA state law prohibits the public disclosure of personal information like full names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers. This lawsuit is yet another power grab from the Trump administration — and a violation of our privacy. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Trump is kidnapping and disappearing immigrants of all legal statuses into for-profit detention centers, denying them legal access, and subjecting them to awful conditions. 200+ judges have ruled against his actions, and I’m introducing legislation to fix this broken system.
As an immigrant, hearing the stories about conditions in Trump’s immigration detention centers has been horrifying. Today, I introduced my Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act to end our over-reliance on detention and ensure that immigrants’ civil and human rights are protected.
Great to join @nationalnurses.bsky.social to call for a health care system that works for all Americans, not just the richest few. Congress needs to extend the expiring ACA tax credits to save families from a massive premium hike next year — and then we need to pass my Medicare For All bill.
Trump’s treatment of immigrants is beyond inhumane. That’s why today I’m introducing my Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act to phase out our over-reliance on private, for-profit detention centers & put in place guardrails to protect immigrants’ civil & human rights. www.newsweek.com/ice-detentio...
Congress can’t just sit by as giant corporations use AI to discriminate against people applying for housing, jobs, or loans. We must act. Our AI Civil Rights Act will regulate these algorithms, root out bias, and put guardrails in place at every single stage of development.
I think the word “affordability” means a whole lot to the millions of Americans who are struggling to pay for food, rent, or health care right now. Democrats are fighting for you. Trump doesn’t give a damn.
We’re demanding that Russ Vought, Trump’s OMB Director and the architect of Project 2025, testify before the House Budget Committee. He has unlawfully blocked funding and created a massive affordability crisis across the country. Congress and the American people deserve answers.
AI is a $244 billion industry that lacks the guardrails necessary to protect Americans from the bias and discrimination baked into algorithms. And Congress is way behind on putting in place the needed regulations to ensure equal access to housing, jobs, and even bank loans.
Millions of American families are struggling to afford their basic needs — food, housing, and health care. What are Trump and Republicans doing about it? Raising health care costs and giving tax cuts to billionaires. They simply don’t care. www.ft.com/content/cfa6...
Remember the militarized raid on a Chicago apartment building in the middle of the night where agents rappelled from helicopters and zip-tied sobbing children? It has resulted in ZERO criminal charges two months later. The cruelty, chaos, and fear are the point.
