Last summer, the House GOP shut down work in mid-July instead of finding the big middle on bipartisan infrastructure reform.
This summer, with costs rising on everything, they'd rather go home than tell the truth about Epstein. The American people sent us here to do hard work, not skip town early.
July is UV Safety Month so here is a reminder to protect your skin, eyes, and loved ones from harmful sun exposure. We're on track to be the hottest summer on record so take extra care:
-Seek shade
-Wear protective clothing and sunglasses
-Use broad spectrum SPF 15+ sunscreen
Stay safe out there!
No relief in sight from #Trumpflation as burger prices hit record high. While the GOP is wiping out Sesame Street, they are ALSO breaking their promise to help Main Street.
In NW Ohio we take our dairy seriously. Hoping everybody celebrating has two scoops on this #NationalIceCreamDay!
A resolution entitled “Protecting US Federal Funding to Combat Erosion and Flooding Across the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River Basin,” calling on Congress to reject proposed funding cuts to NOAA programs that strengthen coastal resilience.
A resolution entitled “Maintaining Progress on Lead Service Line Replacement Through the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements,” encouraging Congress to reject any effort to repeal or weaken the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements.
A resolution entitled, "Reaffirming Support for the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement," to express the Cities Initiative's ongoing support for the GLWQA and other transboundary efforts to maintain and improve water quality.
A resolution entitled “Upholding the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Agreement and Compact,” reaffirming the Cities Initiative’s unwavering support for the Agreement and Compact – especially the ban on out-of-basin diversions.
A resolution entitled “Advancing a Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Strong Response to the US-Canada Trade War,” highlighting the Cities Initiative’s strong opposition to blanket US tariffs on Canadian goods.
A declaration entitled “Preserving the US-Canada Relationship to Protect Our Prosperous Regional Economy and Our Precious Freshwater Resources,” that commits the Cities Initiative to working tirelessly to improve ties between the United States and Canada.
Here are just some of the declarations and resolutions passed this year at the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative Annual Meeting:
🧵Last month, 325 Mayors, Tribal, and First Nation leaders committed to clean water, US-Canada relations, and climate resilience. They met to champion the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative. Their efforts reflect the urgent needs of our Great Lakes communities. Thanks for your leadership!
Ohio’s water future is on the line. The H2Ohio program is critical to protecting Lake Erie, supporting local farmers, and ensuring safe drinking water for all Ohioans. Water is life and we cannot afford to roll back this progress.

Just your daily reminder that unions are the backbone of our nation. Fighting for fair wages, safe workplaces, and dignity on the job.
The Big Bonanza Bill for Billionaires attacks these rights, puts profits over people, and people out of work. We must stand up for workers, not silence them.
Feeling some deja vu! We just passed another Energy & Water Appropriations bill out of Committee yesterday, we still don’t have President Trump’s tax returns or a full PICTURE of the President’s investments in energy which remain an ENIGMA. Is President Trump rigging markets?
My effort in the Energy & Water Appropriations Committee markup would save over 1.75 million good paying American jobs. Every single Republican voted no. These cuts caused by the Big Billionaire Bonanza Bill will kill jobs in communities across America unless we act.
Today, House Republicans are pushing a THUD bill that will strip critical aid from families, seniors, and veterans, cut 20,000 housing vouchers, and underfund public housing by $1.2 Billion. These cuts are CRUEL. Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to live — not broken systems and budget tricks.
Celebrate it in the short term as a small victory, but stay vigilant as there are more battles and fights ahead for Ukraine to achieve victory for her people, and the cause of Liberty.
I know America can do a whole lot better than this bill that doesn't meet the moment. I hope that enough people say, you know what? We can do better than this. We can create a better way of life for our people. That starts with where they live and the transportation systems they have to get to work.
