The Ukraine Caucus was briefed today by Ambassador Markarova on Ukraine’s Drone technology and the path forward following successful attacks on Russian air bases. Thank you to @hoyer.house.gov, @repcohen.bsky.social, @keating.house.gov, @repjimcosta.govpeeps.us & @repvindman.bsky.social for joining.
We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2025 internship cohort in our DC Office. Looking for hardworking, bright individuals that want to gain invaluable experience working in public service — apply by July 25th! You can find more info at: kaptur.house.gov/services/internships
Unpredictable Tariffs and labor shortages are tanking America’s Heartland economy — driving prices up, and economic security down. It’s time for the GOP to LISTEN to hurting families and deliver relief. I’m ready to work.
Great to catch up with Ohio Soybean Association President Rusty Goebel from Williams County, and thank him for his advocacy in DC, and back home in NW Ohio. I will continue to stand alongside him and all Soy farmers across our region, because they make and grow what makes and grows America.
As more Trump Administration tariff news broke heading into the weekend, I ask: Why is the Trump Administration doing this again? People in my region want a job they can count on. Let's do business and quit shaming our allies and fair trade partners.
Prices keep RISING under President Trump. The promise was lower costs but the Big Bonanza Bill for Billionaires and tariffs are making life more expensive. NW Ohio working families are struggling to keep up with higher costs for groceries, housing, and health care. #Trumpflation
Relieved shipment of critical defensive weapons to Ukraine has been renewed—including lifesaving air defensive systems. There must be repercussions for murderous dictator Putin's aggression using every tool at our disposal to help end this war. GOP, a swift vote on Russia Sanctions is long past due.
Joined the Port Clinton community for the Grand Reopening of the Ida Rupp Public Library. Generations to come will greatly benefit from the thoughtful renovations to this place that will give so many a chance to share stories, use their imagination, let ideas take root, and know they belong.
The GOP plans to slash $2.1 Billion from the National Science Foundation. It won’t just hurt labs—it hurts students, startups, and the future economy. From clean energy to advanced manufacturing, these are jobs of tomorrow. These cuts hand American jobs and opportunity to our foreign competitors.
Enjoyed visiting the Lucas County Fair to support The Helping Haul Food Drive and Lucas County 4-H. Bravo to all involved in collecting donations of goods for those in need. Each year I am amazed at the students commitment to raise animals, and strengthen programs for generations of farmers to come.
The Trump Administration has put Millions of dollars in jeopardy meant for law enforcement, while at the same time Homeland Security agents have been diverted from targeting human smugglers and drug traffickers. It's not surprising to see they've chosen secrecy over accountability for the elites.

Working with Rep. Lloyd @Doggett.house.gov Dean of the Texas Congressional Delegation, and @RepEricSorensen.bsky.social, the only meteorologist in Congress, to call for immediate action from federal agencies following catastrophic flash flooding in Kerr County, Texas, that claimed over 100 lives.
It’s not too late to join Summer Read with the Toledo Lucas County Public Library or at other library systems across NW Ohio! Reading opens minds, builds community, and inspires lifelong learning. Let’s make this a summer of discovery!
As a member of the 4-H Caucus in Congress, grateful to see Lucas County 4-H youth leading with heart and compassion! This week at the Lucas County Fair, help Stock the Trailer with non-perishable food donations for SeaGate Food Bank. Bring canned goods on July 11 to receive discounted admission!
Honored to join UToledo leaders today to dedicate new infrastructure that gives students better access to Savage Arena, Chessie Circle Trail, and local neighborhoods. The opening of this pedestrian footbridge across Douglas Road is a giant step forward for the safety of our UT community.
A very hot summer thus far in the western basin of Lake Erie, but the work goes on!
Veterans who served our country shouldn't have to choose between rent, groceries and healthcare. The new GOP Bailout Bonanza for Billionaires takes food off their plates while gutting healthcare access for them and their families. Our veterans, their spouses, kids and survivors deserve so much more.
