Today we mark one year since Hamas' October 7 murderous assault on Israel. The attack and ensuing violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon has soaked this region long marred by turmoil, in blood and violence. We must find a path forward, for all who seek to live together in peace.
I was raised in a union household where we honored the fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, guaranteed health care, and the promise of a secure retirement. I will always stand with the men and women of the labor movement because when workers come together, they win. #1u
Great news for working families! Under President Biden and VP Harris, we've created 16 million jobs, lowered inflation, and boosted wages. Unemployment is at historic lows, and we’re building a stronger economy—from the bottom up and the middle out. We must keep fighting for Ohio workers!
City of Rossford celebrating Mayor Neil MacKinnon III as he receives the 2024 Award of Distinction from his Alma Mater, Rossford High School. Pleased to present the Mayor with an American Flag flown over our United States Capitol in his honor.
Today we celebrate #NationalManufacturingDay and the hardworking men and women who are the backbone of NW Ohio. Let's continue to invest in good-paying jobs, #BuyAmerican, and build a stronger future for our nation—because what America makes and grows, makes and grows America.
Grateful to the Greater Sandusky Partnership for this Regional Collaboration Award recognizing our bipartisan efforts. Together we delivered a $24.5 Million federal RAISE grant and a transformational investment to Sandusky and Erie County. Onward!
Since the Butch Lewis Act became law we have saved 1 million+ pensions nationwide, and 62,000+ across Ohio. I championed these efforts because those who worked, sacrificed, and labored throughout their lives deserve to retire with dignity, knowing they will be financially secure.
We still have much work to do. China bet big on the new energy economy — expanding its global footprint with $100 Billion in overseas clean energy investments in the past two years. The US is behind the curve. We must give our domestic manufacturers a fighting chance.
I welcome the International Trade Administration's decision this week to act on solar cells imported from Southeast Asia. This is an important step toward protecting our domestic solar manufacturing industry from Communist Chinese economic warfare tactics.

At Bergman Orchards Farm Market in Port Clinton, the Bergman family has been dedicated to sharing their bountiful harvest to help feed our NW Ohio communities since 1859.
Grateful to be able to join in fellowship to honor 31 years of Pastor Cedric Brock’s dedicated service to Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and our Toledo and NW Ohio community. Thank you for all you do, and also wishing you an early Happy Birthday!
As we celebrate his 100th birthday, we honor Jimmy Carter’s century filled with accomplishment that bettered life for countless Americans and people around the globe. Thank you President Carter for personifying servant leadership and for all you bestow upon us. 8/8
Nearest to their hearts, community health at home and abroad, especially in neglected regions of Africa as well as enhancing the capacity of Habitat for Humanity organizations across our nation to build housing for the most underserved. 7/8
Upon retirement, he and First Lady Rosalyn Carter returned to Georgia and established the Carter Center, which continues to pursue their many objectives focused on human development. 6/8
A proud veteran of the Nuclear Navy, President Carter and his foreign policy team engineered the enhanced set of relationships in Europe that led to the eventual and profound collapse of the tyrannical Soviet Union a decade later. 5/8
His administration also faced the impacts and onslaught of the first Middle East oil embargo that threw our nation into deep recession, followed by the Iranian hostage crisis. Through it all, President Carter remained clear eyed and resolute. 4/8
As President, he not only achieved passage of the creation of the US Departments of Energy and Education, he also brokered the most significant Middle East Peace agreement in modern history, between Israel and Egypt. 3/8
