Honored to receive the Biofuels Champion — Fueling Growth Award for 2024. As a leader on issues related to biofuels I always work to that ensure American biofuels benefit NW Ohio and all American farmers and producers because what America makes and grows, makes and grows America.
We must #NeverForget what happened 23 years ago. I recently visited the 9/11 Memorial in Gibsonburg which includes part of the World Trade Center’s fallen North Tower. I was honored to meet and hear the experiences of retired FDNY Lt. Joe Torillo who served honorably on 9/11.
Today Congress paid tribute to Corpsman Maxton William Soviak and 12 fellow servicemembers who were killed by a suicide bomber at Abbey Gate of Kabul airport in Afghanistan. Their families were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal to recognize the debt we can never truly repay.
On #FirearmSuicidePreventionDay, we recognize how important safety, awareness, and education are in our work to end firearm deaths. This is why I led the bipartisan IMPROVE Safety for Schools Act which focused on gun safety, and fought to fund the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Back to School at Bryan High School in Williams County. I had a chance to talk with a Junior Government class about government and the role Congress plays. I look forward to seeing all that these brilliant students will go on to accomplish — the future is bright!
Convened the NW Ohio Area Office on Aging, other organizations and local farmers to discuss ways we can work together to bring locally produced food home to serve seniors and students across our region.
Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, $1.3 Billion has been collected from high-wealth tax evaders since last fall. While the GOP keep pushing for more tax cuts for Millionaires and Billionaires, I won’t stop fighting to make sure they pay their fair share. apnews.com/article/irs-...
In case you missed it, earlier this week I held a Social Security and Medicare Telephone Town Hall focused on issues impacting seniors across NW Ohio with special guest Max Richtman President & CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare. Full live recording available here:
Pleasure to keynote the Ohio Economic Development Association Annual Conference, held right here in Northwest Ohio. Together we will help our region, and the entire Buckeye state to thrive for generations to come.
Sweet treats on the menu during a stop at John’s Sons Donut Depot in Bryan, Ohio. I’ll be back soon !! 😋
Thanks to Rusty Goebel for hosting us at Williams County’s Goebel Farm in Stryker, Ohio. As Ohio faces a serious drought, important to discuss farm bill and agriculture priorities for our region.
Today we celebrate #NationalWildlifeDay. Thank you to the many organizations across Northwest Ohio protecting the wildlife and natural resources of the Lake Erie region — our freshwater kingdom.
I will always stand with labor, and our trade unions, because when unions fight, workers win. #1u
Honored to serve as Grand Marshall of the Toledo #LaborDay Parade! As someone who comes from a union family, know that I will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the labor movement. Together we will always fight for respect, dignity, and safe working conditions on the job. #1u

Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law we are making transformational investments across NW Ohio. Working together with local communities, we are delivering lasting results. I will continue to fight for federal funding to come home to our region.

The best county fair in Ohio, and I say that as a native of Henry County, one county away. But we went to the Fulton County Fair every year because it is just that good.

Grateful to spend time helping out at the Veterans Ham and Bean Dinner at the Fulton County Fair. It is the honor of a lifetime to serve those who served our country so faithfully.
Great visit to Penta Career Center in Wood County where students are visioning their careers in fields such as construction, animal sciences, cosmetology, journalism, and firefighting. The future is bright!
Great discussion about ways we can improve safety in transportation and storage of chemicals at Wood County’s Univar Solutions in Walbridge today. So many industries make the mosaic that keeps our region strong.
