Read my full statement demanding that President Trump release the funds for childcare: robinkelly.house.gov/media-center...
In the middle of this affordability crisis, President Trump is attacking our most vulnerable: our children. Freezing childcare funds puts parents out of work and kids at risk. Our kids are not pawns. This is wrong, and I’m fighting to get our families the help they earned.
5 years since the Jan. 6 insurrection, and the echoes from that day still haunt America. Are the ICE agents who are threatening our communities today the same insurrectionists pardoned by President Trump? They must be unmasked.
I refuse to stay silent while Secretary Noem breaks the rule of law and terrorizes our communities. I am introducing Articles of Impeachment against her for violating the public trust, obstructing Congress, and self-dealing. Read my full statement: robinkelly.house.gov/media-center...
I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.
She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.
Tyre Nichols should be home with his family today. Instead, it’s been three years since police violence took his life. For too many Black Americans, a traffic stop is a death sentence.
This has to stop. We need real accountability and reform to keep our communities safe.
ICE does not make our cities safer. They bring violence and heartbreak to our communities.
After today’s shooting in Minneapolis, I am calling for truth and transparency, not more lies from DHS and Secretary Noem.
Real public safety starts with accountability.
President Trump isn’t about America first.” He’s loyal only to himself and billionaire friends, like Big Oil executives.
He’s ignoring the affordability crisis at home and instead attacked Venezuela for oil companies.
I introduced the SAFE Exit Act tonight to require the first-ever federal standard for electric car doors. It requires manual door releases with labeling and better access for first responders so people can always get out in an emergency.

If a car loses power or crashes, electric doors fail to open. Hidden or confusing manual door releases are not good enough. Safety should not depend on knowing a secret latch or carrying a glass breaker. Style should never come before saving lives.
Tesla is putting profits over people. At least 15 people have died while trapped in a Tesla. When crashes or power loss leave drivers and passengers trapped inside vehicles, that is not innovation—it’s a safety failure.
I introduced the SAFE Exit Act to solve this issue.
My deepest sympathies go to the LaMalfa family, staff, and constituents of California’s 1st district.
May his loved ones and those who knew Rep. LaMalfa find peace and comfort as they honor his life and legacy.
I will never forget the fear and trauma of the January 6 insurrection.
President Trump pardoned the insurrectionists and continues to amp up violent rhetoric, disrupting our democracy.
Political violence is never the answer, and I will never bow to this wannabe dictator.
Many employers will be mailing out your W-2 in the coming days.
If you run into issues with the IRS, reach out to my office. We are here to help you navigate the IRS and other federal agencies.
Birth control is healthcare. Period.
I introduced the Access to Birth Control Act to protect patients’ rights to prescribed and over-the-counter birth control. Everyone should be able to access birth control without discrimination, harassment, or intimidation.
As we start the new year, Illinois families shouldn’t have to choose between groceries, rent, and medicine.
@HouseDemocrats.bsky.social and I are fighting to make life more affordable and help you get the support you need.
Teachers are the heart of our schools, but recent Department of Education funding cuts are making their jobs harder. Money that helps classrooms, trains teachers, and supports students with special needs is being delayed and, in some cases, cut.

Every year, I am focused on delivering for the Second District on issues that matter to you, like gun violence, healthcare, support for farmers, and more.
Let me know: What do you want me to prioritize in Congress this year?

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
