Republican leadership told their members not to host town hall.
That’s not right.
I’m hosting a town hall in Pontiac — right on the border of my district and Rep. Darin LaHood’s — so everyone can be heard.
See you there: forms.gle/HKcGGHnx8Kpb...
I’m touring the District to hear directly from YOU in a series of town halls.
Next Wednesday, I’ll be in Pontiac to listen to your concerns and answer your questions. Ed Yohnka with ACLU of Illinois will also join us.
See you there!

Republicans just passed a budget that:
❌Cuts Medicaid by $880 billion
❌Cuts food aid by $230 billion
💸Gives top 0.1% a $314,266 annual tax cut
📈Raises debt limit by $5 trillion
They voted to enrich themselves, decimate our economy, and steal from hardworking Americans.
This morning, Republicans will push the “SAVE” Act, which requires a passport or a birth certificate with a photo ID to vote.
It would disenfranchise 2.5 million women in Illinois — because their married name would not match their birth certificate.
This is voter suppression, plain and simple.
By naming U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll to also lead the ATF, President Trump continues to militarize our law enforcement.

The Trump administration is playing musical chairs with the department in charge of enforcing gun safety laws.
The ATF needs a director dedicated to the job — not someone who will split time with another job.
Kash Patel removed as acting ATF director, replaced by Army Secretary, sources say - www.reuters.com/world/us/kas... @sarahnlynch.bsky.social

The Republican budget kicks millions of Americans off their health care just to hand trillions in giveaways to Trump's billionaire donors.
While Republicans betray the middle class, Democrats are fighting for American families.
@congressmanboyle.bsky.social on today's Democratic Daily Download:
RFK Jr. is a coward. I marched to the health department with my colleagues on the @energycommerce.bsky.social Health Subcommittee to demand an explanation for HHS layoffs and restructure.
We received no response from RFK Jr. and his office.
Americans deserve better from the health secretary.
Welcome to the Capitol, @ilattygeneral.bsky.social!
Thank you for your hard work to combat the Trump administration’s unconstitutional actions in court.
This weekend, young adults discovered job and internship opportunities at my annual Youth Opportunities Fair at Hillcrest High School.
This event is always one of my favorites, and it was a joy to see different employers and our youth connecting.
Trump is crashing the economy.
His tariffs are a tax on the American people, and we will pay at the check-out counter for his recklessness.
Don’t just take my word for it — this was Fox News this morning ⬇️

Gun crime takes lives and hurts communities. It's made worse by weak, outdated laws that let guns fall into dangerous hands. We applaud @robinkelly.house.gov for introducing the Federal Firearm Licensee Act to modernize our laws and close dangerous loopholes.
I urge the Appropriations Subcommittee Members to reauthorize PEPFAR, a lifeline for millions with HIV & AIDS globally.
In Latin America, I’ve seen the horrific role American tourists play in spreading HIV. We need to do our part in funding PEPFAR to end the HIV & AIDS pandemic.

For too long the gun industry has put profits over people with insufficient oversight, allowing irresponsible businesses to fuel gun violence without accountability.
We at @bradyunited.org are grateful for @robinkelly.house.gov & @durbin.senate.gov
for introducing legislation to change that.

I teamed up with @robinkelly.house.gov to introduce the Federal Firearm Licensee Act to ensure people who shouldn’t have guns aren’t able to get them.
Updating laws for licensed firearm dealers is one of many steps we must take to address the gun violence epidemic in our country.
Read more about my bill here:

Laws regulating gun dealers haven’t been updated in over 30 years.
I introduced the Federal Firearm Licensee Act with @Durbin.senate.gov to bring our gun safety laws into the 21st Century. Every gun dealer should ensure they don’t sell guns to people with dangerous intentions.
Trump keeps saying the quiet part out loud: He does not care.
Already, Trump’s tariffs have triggered a plunge in the stock market and sent investors reeling.
Americans will pay for Trump’s trade war at the check-out counter as prices for everyday items skyrocket.
No hard feelings, Elon. It's just the most efficient move.
Our summer internship is open to interested applicants! Interns can be based in DC or in three of the District offices in Chicago, Matteson, or Danville.
Apply by April 13 to join a dedicated team, gain great experience, and serve the Second District:
