Americans do not want to invest billions of dollars in another war in the Middle East. I’m co-sponsoring the Khanna-Massie war powers resolution to ensure that this illegal war stops immediately.

It was a pleasure to speak at the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual legislative breakfast on Friday and discuss my work to boost our regional economy and support the successful small businesses that call the Salinas Valley home. #CA18
Before he was elected, Vice President Vance was adamantly opposed to war with Iran. Now that he’s in power, he’s cheerleading Trump’s illegal and reckless war.
Four brave American service members are already dead, and the administration is refusing to rule out boots on the ground. This war is not legal, and Trump has not made the case to the American people for why we should send more of our troops into harm’s way.
I recently had the opportunity to tour Second Harvest Santa Cruz in Watsonville, the first food bank in California. Their staff and volunteers are doing amazing work, and I’m fighting for them in Congress to address food insecurity and reverse devastating cuts to SNAP. #CA18
Thank you to leaders from @ucberkeleyofficial.bsky.social and the @setiinstitute.bsky.social for dropping by the office to discuss advancements in technosignature research and how they can be applied to NASA’s space-based missions.
Trump tonight tried to put a positive spin on the mess he’s made. It’s no comfort to the thousands of people who’ve lost their healthcare and their jobs thanks to his policies. #StateOfTheUnion
Americans have been getting crushed for months by Trump’s illegal tariffs. He has no empathy for their struggles - it’s just a hoax to him. #StateOfTheUnion
Trump claims to be “America First” but he’s spent his presidency more focused on Argentina, Venezuela, and Greenland than he has on the economic pain that Americans are facing. #StateOfTheUnion
Republicans gave Trump’s masked, armed ICE agents more money than we give the Marine Corps. And he’s upset that Democrats won’t give more funding to his lawless army? I won’t vote for another dollar until ICE is reined in. #StateOfTheUnion
Trump’s illegal tariffs cost the average family $1,700 last year. He should be refunding to Americans he stole from, not doubling down on his failed policy. #StateOfTheUnion
The #StateOfTheUnion is great if you’re a billionaire, but for the rest of America, we’re stuck with unaffordable groceries, unaffordable healthcare, and the worst jobs market since The Great Recession. No wonder Americans no longer trust Trump on the economy.
Across America, families are being crushed by tariffs and high grocery prices. Tonight, my State of the Union guest is Lupe Lopez, a local grocer in Gilroy who has seen firsthand the struggle that folks are facing at the checkout.

Thanks to Dr. Allen Radner for dropping by our district office to discuss Salinas Valley Health’s priorities. In Congress, I’ll always support policies that improve patient care, expand healthcare access, and lower costs for Californians.
My office has been closely following developments in Mexico. If you or a loved one are traveling abroad there, please follow local shelter in place orders and see this link for additional resources: mytravel.state.gov/s/step

Yesterday, I presented $900,000 I helped to secure for the new Sí Se Puede Behavior Health Center in Watsonville. This facility will provide personalized, bilingual substance use disorder treatment, and I’m happy to see this funding boost their capacity to change more lives.

The Trump administration's attempt to repeal the Endangerment Finding has been shrouded in secrecy. Americans deserve better. We expect lawmakers to put our health and wellbeing first.
