This bill also makes it illegal for Americans to use military IDs or tribal IDs when registering to vote — a barrier that will bar many U.S. citizens, including those who put their lives on the line for our freedom, from voting in our elections.
The SAVE Act is another attack on women’s rights and American’s constitutional right to vote. Under the guise of protecting elections, it will prohibit Americans who’ve changed their names, like married women, from using their birth certificates as proof of citizenship when registering to vote.
Don’t be fooled by this bill that Republicans just passed. It will cut Medicaid for millions, food assistance for seniors, and services for children with disabilities. All so they can turn around and give tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations, while adding $3 trillion to our national debt.
🚨The Trump Administration declared that starting April 14th, seniors will no longer be able to apply for Social Security benefits or make direct deposit changes by phone. Seniors will need to go in person or online. Please call my office if you need help.
Kizuna in English means bonds or connections between people. And Kizuna Japanese Society is always there for those who might need a little help. I had a wonderful time at their annual Spring Festival to celebrate Japanese culture.
Today, I hosted a senior resource fair at the Capriccio Senior Living community. My door is always open to help you get the services and support you need. And with a nationally recognized casework team, we make it easy to get the results you’re looking for!
Nevada has thousands of abandoned mines. Many are poisoning waters, threatening tribal lands, & injuring or killing trespassers. I championed a "Good Sam" law that cuts red tape so Good Samaritan nonprofits & agencies, like @troutunlimited.bsky.social, that want to help clean up now can.
Great to join NAHREP Las Vegas today for their third annual Latinas in Business event! Latina-owned businesses are quickly growing in Nevada and are helping power our local economy. I’m committed to uplifting and supporting them.
Today’s “Liberation Day” is a middle-class tax that stokes the flames of inflation. Economists across the spectrum agree that blanket tariffs jack up the cost of groceries, housing, gas, cars, & countless other products working Nevadans rely on. We’ve already seen Trump tariffs tank the economy.
Communities in Schools is about people pitching in and caring for students in need. Programs don't change people, people change people. I joined a CIS briefing on how we can combat absenteeism and improve student outcomes. The bipartisan support we have for CIS is so important at a time like this.
America's Girl Scouts are the next generation of our leaders and do so much to give back to our communities. Had a blast celebrating the new quarter featuring Girl Scouts of the USA founder Juliette Gordon Low!
You deserve the ability to afford a home, access quality health care, and work a job that lets you raise a family. I’ll work with anyone – Republican or Democrat – to make that a reality for every Nevadan.
Nevada's doctor shortage is severe, but Area Health Education Centers are part of the solution. This week is National AHEC week, which highlights the program that has trained millions of health care professionals. I’ll keep fighting to secure the federal investments it needs.
This is a direct attack by billionaires against the working class. Nevada is a union strong state and we’ll fight this because everyone should be able to work one job and raise a family.
Stripping collective bargaining and union rights from workers across the federal government is the very definition of union busting — and a blatant attempt to silence us. We will fight this outrageous attack on our members with every fiber of our collective being.
Screenshot of the AFL-CIO's statement condemning the Trump administration's executive order stripping collective bargaining and union rights from workers across the federal government.
