Mike Johnson will go down in history for presiding over the longest shutdown ever, and for blocking Adelita Grijalva from being sworn in because she’s the deciding vote to release the Epstein Files. It’s illegal, it’s unconstitutional, and it’s utterly shameful. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

Hoover dismissed starvation in the 30s by constantly promising "prosperity is just around the corner." Trump dismisses the current affordability crisis by promising that prosperity is already here, so long as you believe him and not your lying eyes. I’m not falling for it. You shouldn’t either.

As we reflect on the legacy of the strongest Speaker in American history, we are watching the weakest in real time. A few words on the cowardice and supplication of Mike Johnson.

Nancy Pelosi taught me lessons I’ll carry forever.  Winning is a decision.  No wasted time, no underutilized resources, and no regrets.  Don’t agonize, organize.  Her leadership and grace changed Congress and our country.  The Greatest Speaker of All Time. #ThankYouNancy

Even Republicans are admitting it—Mike Johnson has his members at home on a 6-week vacation instead of in D.C. working to end this shutdown with Democrats. Health care premiums are soaring, prices are up and workers aren’t being paid, all while Johnson does NOTHING. He’s a total joke.

Every major election candidate that Trump endorsed lost last night. America soundly rejected his corruption and chaos. Our democracy survives as long as we keep fighting for it.

I said something was happening out there—and last night proved it. Californians stood up for fairness and accountability, Prop 50 passed, and the people elected Democrats across the country. The fight doesn’t stop here, but we should be proud of this. And we’ll keep it up in 2026.
Wonderful turnout at our house party in San Clemente today. Constituents — including Dems, Independents, and even a few Republicans — shared their concerns about the Trump Admin. Something is happening out there.

I just visited the food distribution at the Community Resource Center in Encinitas. They are having a huge increase in SNAP recipients who need help. It is immoral, illegal, and inconceivable that the Trump Administration would attempt to use hunger as political leverage.

Now we look ahead. One year from now, we will choose the next House of Representatives. We have momentum, and we have work to do. Let’s take this energy forward. Failure is not an option.
I wish we hadn’t needed Prop 50. But when one state draws maps designed to silence millions of voters, the consequences affect representation in every state. We stood up because the health of our democracy depended on it.
