We have been kept in the dark about sweeping executive branch overhauls driven by Trump’s budget director Russ Vought.
Republicans have largely looked the other way.
Congress cannot negotiate responsibly when treated like less than a coequal branch.

Every American should be alarmed when government power is used to pressure a private company to silence a comedian.
The First Amendment protects speech we may dislike or disagree with because without that protection no one’s voice is safe.

Even Justice Alito wrote in 2017 that under the First Amendment, the government “may not ban speech on the ground that it expresses ideas that offend.”
Disagreeing doesn’t give government the power to silence speech.

If we can’t measure pollution, we can’t protect our air or our future.
Ending the EPA greenhouse gas reporting program means flying blind on emissions and leaving communities, businesses, and national security in the dark.
America should lead on clean energy, not hide the facts.

Our kids are watching.
We must show them violence is never the answer in a democracy.
No matter how deep our differences, we have to lower the temperature, reject revenge, and remember: political violence is a disease we must confront together.

Coffee prices in the US are up 21 percent over last year, the steepest jump since 1997. With nearly all our coffee imported and huge tariffs slapped on top suppliers, families are being squeezed at the breakfast table. Ordinary Americans should not pay for reckless trade games.
Tens of millions of Americans rely on mail in voting to make their voices heard, including seniors, military families, people with disabilities and working parents.
Ending it is not about security, it is about silencing voters. I will keep fighting to protect every American’s right to vote.
Using a dubious emergency power to impose sweeping tariffs without Congress could push nearly 1 million Americans into poverty while driving up prices. This executive overreach hurts working families and undermines the constitutional role of Congress.

Federal cuts are shutting down California health and nutrition programs, closing clinics, canceling classes, and laying off workers.
Public health keeps communities healthy and lowers costs.
Without it, families across our state will pay the price.

Decades of safe, effective vaccines have protected our kids and kept schools open.
Now RFK’s actions could weaken those protections.
Whatever your politics, we must stand up for science and the health of America’s children.

Colorado losing hundreds of Space Command jobs because of how they vote is pure retaliation and an abuse of power. No state should be targeted for participating in democracy. I’ll keep fighting for every Americans’ right to vote without fear of vengeance.
Just a reminder that millions of Americans will lose health coverage under Medicaid cuts and new red tape. We must protect access to care and work together on real solutions that strengthen, not weaken, our health care system.
I’ll keep fighting for reforms that strengthen accountability and rebuild faith in our democracy.
Ending stock trading in Congress, enforcing ethics rules, and upholding the Constitution are essential to proving government works for everyone, not just the well-connected.
Alongside my colleagues, I’ve supported legal action to ensure the executive branch follows the law.
I’ve also opposed efforts by any administration to cancel funding that Congress has already approved.
If we don’t defend Congress’s constitutional power of the purse, Article I becomes meaningless.
