This morning, I released the facts: 338 rural hospitals are at risk from the GOP's Big Ugly Bill. Trump’s Treasury Secretary said they’re “quite satisfied” with gutting Medicaid, Medicare, and the ACA. Patients losing care and workers losing jobs is not policy--it’s cruelty.
Hidden in Republicans' Big Ugly Bill is a provision to destroy rooftop solar—an essential tool used by majority low- and middle-income families to reduce their energy costs.
NYT Headline: Why Rooftop Solar Could Crash Under the G.O.P. Tax Bill
Federal tax breaks have fueled a boom. The House bill would end that immediately.
The life-saving COVID vaccine was developed because of federal research investments at a Mass-based company. Disbanding HHS’s COVID advisory panel and targeting Moderna is yet another baseless attack on Massachusetts and example of RFK Jr’s incompetence. Vaccines work. RFK Jr should resign.
This is Econ 101: cutting off America's supply of cheap solar and wind + surging demand from data centers and gas exports = higher energy prices for everyone. Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill will only fan the flames and make household energy bills more expensive.

Trump is making electricity more expensive–not less.

That’s because of something we’ll call the “Trump Tax”—a combination of tariffs, canceled clean energy investments, and cuts to energy affordability programs.

Now his “big, beautiful bill” could make it even worse.
(Thread from Senate Dems on Twitter)
Rolling back the air toxics rule ignores science, law, and morality. Trump and Zeldin's Make America Sick Agenda sacrifices Americans near and far while lining the pockets of fossil fuel execs. Americans deserve clean energy and a healthy, livable future—not dirty power plants.
BREAKING NEWS ALERT
EPA to propose rolling back climate rule for power plants Wednesday
We should protect the Dreamers and young people who know no other home than America. When DACA is under attack, so are the dreams, hopes, and futures of DACA recipients and their families. Congress must act—DACA must remain in place.

Republicans are still pursuing their unacceptable plan to block states from regulating AI. I’m ready to fight with every tool I have. I will be filing an amendment to strip this provision from their "Big Beautiful Bill". Republicans better be prepared to vote on it.
Screenshot of amendment to strike the AI regulation ban provision.
The Health Secretary pushing to cut 16 million people off their health care is firing the people who make sure vaccines are safe. RFK Jr. should be safeguarding people’s health but he’s too busy serving his and Donald Trump’s Make America Sick Agenda.
There's a lot happening with the GOP's "Big Beautiful Bill" and it's hard to keep track. But knowledge is power. So I'm hosting a series of virtual budget reconciliation teach-ins. Join us this Wednesday night to learn about proposed cuts and how we can fight back. markey.senate.gov/TeachIn
