Tomorrow, my staff will be holding office hours to help you navigate federal agencies. From 9am-12pm, stop by the Stockton Boulevard Partnership to learn about the resources and support you have during this uncertain time.
The Trump Administration's external health communications gag order has hampered our efforts to prevent the spread of bird flu in our country. I joined my colleagues in urging President Trump to lift this gag order ASAP. If another deadly pandemic unfolds, it would be under Trump's watch.
The House GOP budget will take away Medicaid from millions of Americans. They will affect Sacramentans like my friends Joe & Denise, who stood beside me last Friday to advocate for our community. We'll always push back against GOP efforts to take away our health care. www.sacbee.com/news/equity-...
I recognize that ensuring a vibrant future for @ucdavis.bsky.social relies on strong federal investments in research. You can count on me to keep fighting for federal research funding & pushing back against the Trump Administration’s attacks on the NIH & the entire research & development ecosystem.
It was great to join @chancellormay.bsky.social and the @ucdavis.bsky.social community to unveil the UC Davis Economic Impact Report at Aggie Square! Aggie Square is a truly monumental achievement—it will link together our businesses, researchers, and community organizations.
The Trump Administration is clawing back funding for public EV charging stations that was authorized under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Withholding this funding is against the law! I joined my colleagues in urging the Federal Highway Administration to follow the law!
Florida has the second most EVs in the U.S., but the Trump Administration is attacking funding for public charging stations. I led a letter with @usrepkathycastor.bsky.social & @reppaultonko.bsky.social urging the to protect EV infrastructure investments made under the Infrastructure Law.
Joined WellSpace Health and @cpcainsights.bsky.social to discuss the importance of Medicaid. Republicans are threatening to cut a trillion dollars in Medicaid for tax cuts for the wealthy. These cuts would devastate our community. I'll continue to fight back against these threats to health care.
This is a vital component for connecting the River District to the surrounding region.
I fought hard to secure a $9.5 million RAISE grant and $1 million in federal funding to help bring SacRT's Dos Rios Light Rail station to life. This station will help River District residents get to work, visit loved ones, attend critical appointments, and access educational opportunities.

I met with Meals on Wheels to discuss how Republican funding cuts would impact their programs that serve seniors in need throughout Sacramento County. Make no mistake—I will fight these cuts in Congress so that they don’t hurt those we care about back home.
Today marks 83 years since Executive Order 9066 incarcerated over 120,000 Japanese Americans, including my family. #DayOfRemembrance is a reminder that we can't be complacent. The Trump Admin is creating a culture of fear & hysteria. That is why the Japanese American story must be told & retold.
I was pleased to meet with Assemblywoman Maggy Krell to discuss her plans for the Sacramento region. I look forward to finding opportunities for us to collaborate on important issues—including protecting repro rights at a time when they are under attack and lowering costs for Sacramentans.
As a new year begins, it was great meeting with Senator Christopher Cabaldon to discuss his priorities for the City of West Sacramento. Christopher is a thoughtful, innovative leader who I know will work hard to deliver results for all of District 3.
This #Valentines season, remind your partner to get a routine cancer screening. When it comes to cancer, Early Detection = Better Outcomes. #CongressionalFamilies There’s no better way to show someone you love them, then by looking out for their health. @preventcancer.org
The Trump Admin is trying to drag this country back to the 1970s. That’s why I reintroduced the Vehicle Energy Performance Act w/ @casten.house.gov, which would incentivize automakers to offer fuel-efficient options & put money in the pockets of the American people. matsui.house.gov/media/press-...
During #BlackHistoryMonth, we celebrate the countless contributions that Black Americans have made & continue to make that are foundationally woven into the fabric of America. We stand up to honor & preserve the vital history of Black Americans in the Sacramento region and throughout the country.
