Lawmakers shouldn't have to worry about the safety of their families while they carry out their elected duties. Violence of any kind has no place in our democracy. We must work to keep members safe and take a step back from the dangerous rhetoric fueling this.
Great to be with St Joseph's Neighborhood Center to cut the ribbon on their new Medical Outreach and Engagement Vehicle! Under the leadership of County Executive Bello, I'm proud our community continues to step up and ensure our neighbors have the care and support they deserve.
Today, I stopped by the Rochester Adult & Teen Challenge Center for a visit and a tour of their facility. They are transforming lives with a holistic approach to addiction recovery, and I'm grateful for the impactful work they do.
In the wake of the horrifying violence in Minnesota, elected officials at all levels are understandably concerned. As top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, I'm working with my colleagues and law enforcement to keep members of Congress safe.
I'm honored to have hosted numerous Vietnam Veterans Pinning Ceremonies to recognize this generation of veterans for their service and sacrifice. If you know of a Vietnam War veteran who should be recognized, please reach out to my office. morelle.house.gov/contact
It was a privilege to host another Pinning Ceremony to honor local veterans who served in the Vietnam War. This recognition was long overdue, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to pay tribute to their courage and sacrifice.
Grateful to the Rochester organizations who joined my constituent coffee hour in D.C. last week. Your insights are vital as we work together to strengthen our community. We're fortunate to have such passionate advocates committed to driving positive change back home.
My father always used to say, “If there’s something you can do to help someone, you have an obligation to do it."   I try to carry that legacy forward by doing what I can to support our neighbors.   Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandads, and father-figures in our community.
My staff and I are in close contact with the House sergeant at arms and the U.S. Capitol Police to proactively ensure the safety of Minnesota’s congressional delegation. We continue to thank dedicated law enforcement officers for their service in our communities across the country.
We’re praying for State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, and praying for the family of State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark.
Mary Beth and I are deeply saddened and disturbed by the apparent targeted political attacks in Minnesota. Violence is never the answer, and all forms of political violence should always be condemned.
If the Trump administration wants to grab headlines, that's one thing. If you want to support factory lines, that's another. We need predictability and stability in our government.
This bill would help provide stability for caregivers and ensure they have the same benefits provided to other members of our workforce. Veteran caregivers give their all for those who’ve served our country—it’s our duty to support them, too. Read more:
Yesterday, the House Veterans Affairs Health Subcommittee held a legislative hearing, which included my bill, the Veteran Caregiver Re-education, Re-employment, and Retirement Act. I'm grateful for their bipartisan support as we work together to support our veteran caregivers.
I've had the honor of working closely with Senator Padilla—he’s a dedicated public servant. I'm hopeful for his safety and well-being following his removal by federal agents during a DHS press conference. This madness must end.
We should be investing in programs that save lives and strengthen our neighborhoods, not tearing them down. It's clear House Republicans are more committed to tax breaks for billionaires than a government that supports our communities. Read my full statement here: morelle.house.gov/media/press-...
Today, House Republicans passed a package to cut billions from free educational resources like Sesame Street, NPR, and more. Slashing this funding deprives our children and won’t do a thing to solve this country's challenges.
We need a Defense funding bill that invests in our national security and military readiness, yet the commander-in-chief can't even be bothered to give us a budget request. We have to do better than this.
