I am sickened by the brutal shooting of a young Jewish couple last night in Washington, DC.
This was a vile act of antisemitism and a horrific example of the gun violence plaguing our nation. This was not random. This was targeted and hateful.

A year ago, the House passed my Federal Prison Oversight Act—an important, bipartisan step in improving the safety of prison staff and incarcerated individuals.
It’s since been signed into law and is helping reform our nation’s justice system.

The American people don’t support cuts to vital health care or food assistance programs—and they won’t let the majority in Congress get away with it.
We need just 4 Republicans to join us in voting against this budget bill to stop this cruelty.

House Republicans know that Americans don’t want to lose their health insurance or be forced into debt, but they don’t want to talk about it — at least not when most Americans are awake and paying attention.

I’m saddened by the loss of our dear colleague and friend, Congressman Gerry Connolly. Gerry was a dedicated public servant, a fearless advocate for accountability, and a tireless champion for the American people.
My heart is with his family, his staff, and those who knew him.
The House Republican attempts to cut health care impact 2 million people in Georgia—real people. We need to protect coverage for working families, not strip away their lifeline.
Republicans in Congress are trying to push their budget plan through. This is life or death.

I joined @hankjohnson.house.gov in re-introducing legislation to help those who need it most get from point A to point B.
This bill:
🚌 Provides $20B annually for public transit
🚌 Brings more frequent service on bus & rail lines
🚌 Prioritizes services to places with existing poor service
During National Police Week, I spoke in favor of legislation to improve officer safety and well-being.
Mental health stigma and lack of resources prevent many from seeking help. Healthy officers are more effective public servants for our communities. We must act.

On Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women of law enforcement who gave their lives in the line of duty.
We are forever grateful for their sacrifice and their dedication to protecting our communities.

Ranking Member Pallone on the 26+ hour fight through the night to protect Americans against Republicans’ draconian health care cuts:
As we prepare to honor 60 years of Head Start, we must continue to invest in these transformational programs that set our children (and maybe more future members of Congress!) up for success.

Three years ago, a horrific act of racially motivated gun violence devastated Buffalo, New York.
Today, we mourn the 10 lives lost.
I am inspired by the resilience of the Buffalo community in the face of unspeakable tragedy. We continue to act in Congress to prevent horrific events like this.
Infrastructure investments make life as safe and smooth as possible for families across Georgia.
I am proud to have secured millions of federal dollars for critical projects in our community:
🛣️ Akers Mill Ramp Project
🚏 Gwinnett Transit Center
🚌 Bus and Bus Facilities grant for MARTA
In Congress, I am continuing to push for a bipartisan agreement to update and expand job training and employment programs across the country.
I was so glad to welcome leadership from CobbWorks to my district office to discuss employment and education services in our community.
As Cobb County's American Job Center, CobbWorks is a critical resource for workers and our businesses.

I thank Dr. Hayden for her selfless service to the American public and for breaking down barriers for those who will one day follow in her footsteps. My colleagues and I will continue working to defend these assaults on our legislative branch.
For nearly a decade, she has worked tirelessly to educate future generations and share the richness of our nation's history-and her work was not yet complete. The President's abrupt firing of Dr. Hayden represents yet another baseless attack on an eminently qualified public servant.
