From all of us on Team McGarvey, Happy Valentine's Day!
We have the entire year to pass a budget that works for all Americans, but Republicans don't want to work with us.
They don't care that their budget hurts our kids, seniors, and the middle class — they want tax cuts for their wealthy donors.
Just checking in on a few of Trump's promises for working families — must have missed them in the Republicans' budget 🤔
Someone's illness should never be a death sentence.
But the Republicans' budget will rip health insurance away from millions of Americans — almost 25% of Kentuckians.
Word of advice? Don't come for Medicaid unless you want the fight of your life.
Wealthy donors like Elon Musk poured millions into the 2024 election, and now they're coming to collect the tax cuts they were promised.
Republicans want our kids, veterans, and seniors to pay for them.
This budget is a scam — plain and simple.
Let’s call the Republican budget proposal what it is — a total scam and betrayal of the American middle class.
Today, we're fighting back.
@housebudgetdems.bsky.social
We're voting on the Republican budget tomorrow.
They want $4.6 trillion in tax cuts for their wealthy donors, and we don't even know what they're cutting to pay for it — they left 31 pages blank.
But I think we can guess. And @housebudgetdems.bsky.social are pushing back.
Trump's broad, petty tariffs would devastate Kentucky's signature bourbon industry.
I joined Bourbon Pursuit last week to talk about it ⬇️

Donald Trump's actions aren't going to strengthen American-made industries, they're going to kill union jobs right here at home.
He doesn't care about Louisville workers. Don't let him lie to you. bit.ly/4hxyJjU
Banning medical debt from credit reports would have helped nearly 15 million Americans.
Instead, the Trump Admin is literally inviting Wall Street, insurance companies, and utility companies to rip us off.
Can't trust a billionaire to look out for working families.

USPS claims that severe mail delays in Louisville are due to "weather" — I'm not satisfied with that.
Louisvillians deserve real answers for why they're not getting medications, checks, and packages. I'm still pushing to get them.
My follow-up letter:
Amid the chaos in DC, Louisvillians still aren't getting their mail.
We're demanding answers from USPS in Washington to fix this and make sure it doesn't happen again. bit.ly/4jL1Dib
Donald Trump is giving unelected billionaires access to your private data, including Social Security numbers and bank account info.
I don't trust Elon Musk with my personal info — my constituents don't either.
I joined House Dems to introduce the Taxpayer Data Protection Act to put a stop to it.
Donald Trump is not king — it’s time for House Republicans to step up and join us in doing something about it.
There's a lot going on, and I want to hear from you.
I'm hosting a telephone town hall on Tuesday, February 25 — I encourage every Louisvillian to dial in and share their thoughts.

With increased attacks on our immigrant communities, every Louisvillians should know their rights and make a plan if they need to.

In what world do wealthy donors like Elon Musk get to paw through personal health data and make decisions about what kind of care our kids and seniors receive?
This is illegal, and it threatens health care for 350,000+ Louisvillians. No way.
Getting ghosted by a federal agency? Questions about your benefits? Team McGarvey can help.
My team will be at Café LOUIE at the Southwest Regional Library this weekend! Come by from 8:30 - 10 am to ask questions or get some assistance.
