Health care premiums are expected to rise by more than double unless Congress acts.
And what do Republicans in Congress do? Skip town for vacation and let the government shut down instead of fixing the mess they created. They control Congress. They own this.
Health care costs are rising because Trump and Republicans slashed billions from our health care system.
Now, as Congress negotiates government funding, Republicans are refusing to work on lowering costs for people.
RI’s commercial health insurance premiums are going up by as much as 22% next year. Thousands are going to lose coverage.
Republicans control Congress & the White House and can pass a budget to fix this, but are threatening a government shutdown instead.
The time to act is now.
We’re in a housing crisis, and Americans are already struggling to make ends meet.
Now Trump’s tariffs are set to drive housing costs even higher. It’s time to end these tariffs that only make life harder for working people.
I’m at the airport heading to DC to fight to protect Americans’ health care and keep the government open.
House Republicans tried to ram through bill that raises health care costs - and then went on vacation.
Great to spend time with @IBT251 at this morning’s membership meeting. For too long Washington has turned its back on the middle class and those working to join it.
That has to change now.
Workers on strike shouldn’t lose their health care.
That is why I support the Striking and Locked Out Workers Healthcare Protection Act - to stop corporations from forcing families to choose between their health and their rights on the job.
When people lose health coverage, hospitals and nursing homes are forced to raise prices for everyone else.
I am ready to back a budget that prevents a health care crisis. Republicans need to come to the table to fix this health care mess and avert a government shutdown now.
Rhode Island once again made a great showing at the Big E this year!
Had a great time bringing the kids for their first time yesterday.
RIers are about to see their health insurance costs go up by an average of $1,780 because ACA tax credits are expiring.
Republicans control all branches of government and can fix the problem in next year's budget.
But I cannot vote for a bill that fails to address this crisis.
Today I joined the Bryant University Global Trade Summit, New England’s premier conference on international trade.
We discussed AI, U.S. trade policy, and how Rhode Island can attract investment, grow exports, and stay competitive in the global economy.
Great conversation at the New England Council breakfast this morning. I spoke about lowering costs by reversing Trump tariffs, supporting affordable clean energy, and focusing on economic policy where you don't have to know a guy at Mar-a-Lago to be able to compete.
Excited to join RIHousing for the ribbon cutting of the new Presley Apartments in Warwick! 🏘️
The former Sheraton Hotel now provides 190 much-needed homes. I will continue working to protect and expand the federal funding that makes projects like this possible.
Health insurance costs in RI are set to rise & tax credits that help people afford care will expire soon.
Congress must act. I am calling for a budget that lowers health care costs while R's push one that makes the crisis worse.
We need to protect care & lower costs.
How about just get rid of the tariffs?
So Rhode Islanders don’t have to pay extra at the grocery store to keep farms afloat.
We secured a huge win for RI seniors, successfully pressuring Trump to release funds for the Americorps Seniors program that runs programming at facilities in RI.
This funding should not have been held up to begin with. The disruptions from Elon's DOGE continue to cause chaos.
📈 A new report shows that inflation would be a third lower without Trump’s tariffs. Working people are paying more than they should because of bad policy.
The President should bring costs down immediately by repealing his reckless tariffs.
Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air, but this is just the beginning for Donald Trump’s censorship of free speech.
Here is my reaction to Trump’s attacks on free and independent media. ⬇️
Today I proudly stood with @IBEW members at the progress meeting for District 2 – representing 44 unions across New England.
We are fighting to bring good-paying union jobs to New England, and keep them here.
Everyone knows someone who has been impacted by cancer, or they have been impacted themselves.
Matt from @acscan.bsky.social has a good idea: Put our foot on the gas and fund research and care for those battling cancer.
