Three years ago, abortion rights were rolled back with the Dobbs decision, and the consequences have been dire.
We cannot rest until we restore and protect reproductive rights for all.
Important piece by @universityofri.bsky.social President Marc Parlange in @science.org.
The Trump admin’s attacks on research funding don't just hurt the Ivy League — they hurt state schools like URI, where groundbreaking work is being done every day.

Yesterday I celebrated World Refugee Day at the Refugee Dream Center in Providence with some of our newest Rhode Islanders.
From our very beginning as a state and country we have been a refuge for those fleeing persecution. It is who we have always been and must continue to be.
We just filed a legal brief to stop Trump’s unlawful cuts to lifesaving NIH research.
These cuts would devastate cancer trials, Alzheimer’s research, and other critical work — including research happening at Brown and URI.
We’re fighting back.
Huge congratulations to Sky Haneul Kim of Gift Horse in Providence on winning Best Chef in the Northeast at this year’s James Beard Awards!
A well deserved honor that puts a spotlight on the incredible talent we have right here in Rhode Island.

It’s June 20, the OFFICIAL first day of Summer! ☀️
What RI summer activities do you have teed up for the season? Maybe…
Relax at Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly 🏖️
Take the ferry to Block Island from Point Judith ⛴️
Kayak through Narrow River in Narragansett 🌊
While most of Washington pushes tax breaks for their wealthy donors, I remain focused on building an economy for working people in Rhode Island.
That means fighting for job training programs, better wages, and the ability to bargain collectively in a union.
Juneteenth commemorates the final enslaved people in the United States being informed of the end of the Civil War and of their freedom.
We celebrate for good reason.
If you want to trade stocks, go to Wall Street.
If you want to serve the public, come to Congress.
You shouldn’t get to do both.
We must pass a bill to ban members of Congress from trading stocks.
Today we toured URI’s Bay Campus for an update on the incredible work being done here in oceanography, marine biology and engineering, and environmental protection.
This campus is essential to protecting the blue economy we take so much pride in here in the Ocean State.
Fishing means jobs, tradition, and a strong economy for so many Rhode Islanders.
Today my staff and I visited the Port of Galilee with Rhode Island DEM to see recent bulkhead upgrades and discuss supporting the working waterfront.
Did you know that the American Revolution really began in Rhode Island?
A year before the Boston Tea Party, we kicked things off with a bang in R.I.

It’s Flag Day! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
On this day in 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as our national flag. And to this day, we are proud to have the iconic Red, White, and Blue represent us at home and abroad.
One blood donation can save up to three lives.
On World Blood Donor Day, we thank the selfless donors who save lives everyday.
If you’re able, consider donating. 🩸❤️
Today we honor the brave men and women of the United States Army who have answered the call to serve, past and present. Thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our nation.
Happy 250th Birthday to the U.S. Army!
I am monitoring the horrific targeted shootings of legislators in Minnesota.
As Homeland Security Ranking Member for Counterterrorism, I will ask for a full briefing once the facts are known, and urge everyone to remain calm this weekend.
Another week has passed, and Edesia Nutrition still hasn’t had its funding restored. I took the House floor each day again.
Children are dying.
The Trump administration says help is coming, but there’s been no action.
It's time to act.
Donald Trump ran for President promising to deliver peace.
Peace in the Middle East. Peace in Ukraine.
Has has failed us.
I have news for Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and the billionaires: no matter how much money you have, no matter how many poor people you take food and medicine away from, it will never fill that hole inside of you.
