Trump just fired the HHS team responsible for calculating the Federal Poverty Line, which determines eligibility for programs like Medicaid, food assistance, and child care. Trump & DOGE are blocking hardworking Americans from getting the basic assistance they deserve.
Trump’s illegal executive order on elections & Republicans' SAVE Act are part of a broader voter suppression effort that imposes unnecessary barriers for millions of American citizens. I’ll continue to advocate against voter suppression attempts while fighting to protect free and fair elections.
A federal judge temporarily blocked election officials Thursday from implementing parts of President Donald Trump’s executive order to require people to prove they are citizens when they fill out federal voter registration forms.
On Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, we remember the 1.5 million Armenians murdered and reflect on the continued threats facing Armenians today. We must reaffirm our commitment to ensuring justice for the 120,000 Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh just two years ago.
Environmental protections used to be bipartisan: 50 years ago, President Nixon established the EPA & then-governor Ronald Reagan signed CEQA. Climate change is going to impact everyone, no matter if you’re in a blue or red state. This #EarthDay, let’s put our environment over politics.
Pete Hegseth’s reckless actions have continuously put our service members’ lives and our national security at risk. He is the most unqualified Defense Secretary in history, and he must resign or be fired immediately, before even more damage is done.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared detailed information about strikes in Yemen to a second unclassified Signal group chat that included his wife and brother, people familiar with the matter said. nyti.ms/4jBQ1wV

172,000 people in CA-15 depend on Medicaid. In California, it covers nearly half of all adults with disabilities and more than 40% of children. This Medicaid Matters Day of Action, @housedemocrats.bsky.social are fighting to protect this vital lifeline from Republican attacks.
What happened to Mohsen Mahdawi is a chilling violation of civil & first amendment rights that should alarm all of us. I'm joining @balint.house.gov in demanding answers on the Trump Administration's continued disappearance of lawful residents of the US.
My colleagues and I demand answers from Kristi Noem and Marco Rubio about the illegal and inhumane abduction of Mohsen Mahdawi, a permanent legal resident of the United States. The Constitution guarantees people within our borders basic rights, including due process and free speech.
Trump and Musk are slashing Social Security staff and closing offices across the country. This means longer wait times & increased backlog for beneficiaries. Our seniors deserve better. I am fighting for the >100,000 retirees in CA-15 who rely on these crucial benefits. #SocialSecurityDayofAction
The Fair Housing Act was an important step in advancing civil rights by prohibiting identity-based discriminatory housing practices. As we celebrate 57 years of this groundbreaking law today, it's a reminder that we must continue to work toward a more equitable society.
I voted against the SAVE Act today. Republicans want to suppress the votes of married women and millions of other Americans through this blatant attempt at undermining our free and fair elections.
