On Feb. 19, 1942, Executive Order 9066 was signed, which forcibly sent innocent Japanese Americans to internment camps. Tanforan in San Bruno was one of these detention centers where Americans were wrongfully held.
As a member of @capac.house.gov, I'll always fight to protect our civil liberties.

Due to medical reasons, I've made the difficult decision to reschedule this week’s town hall. I'll continue to do all I can remotely including sponsoring legislation, sending urgent letters & coordinating with Democrats to fight back against Trump’s overreach. kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/02/18/t...
Medicaid is essential to so many in our community, and I am committed to protecting this vital service against Republican attacks.
Honoring the prolific leader, abolitionist, and writer Frederick Douglass today. Born into slavery in 1818, Douglass escaped to freedom and became one of the key abolitionist movement leaders.
Through his tireless efforts and contributions, America has become more equitable and free.
Proud to join 32 Dads Caucus members in this letter demanding action on egg prices & bird flu. We've seen multiple cases of H5N1 in the Bay Area, including it spreading to a domestic stray cat. kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/02/14/r...
In California - Medicaid provides essential health care for:
43.1% of all children
40% of moms giving birth & their newborn babies
48% of working-age adults with disabilities
61% of people in nursing homes
22.8% of adults aged 19-64
Graphic below shows nationwide coverages:
Republicans care more about tax breaks for billionaires than health care for those in need.
Medicaid provides health coverage to 10.4 million Californians – that's 27.2% of CA's population!
See comment below for which of your neighbors will be harmed if their plan succeeds 🧵
I'm proud to lead a group of 67 lawmakers from the House & Senate, who are calling upon the State Department to reverse its unjust and unlawful policy of withholding passports based on their sex, while targeting transgender, intersex & non-binary Americans.

Started in 1909 by prominent activists including W.E.B. Dubois & Ida B. Wells, the NAACP has grown to be America’s largest civil rights organization with over 2,200 branches across the country, including San Mateo. I'm grateful for the work they do to make our country better.

My office has been getting hundreds of calls from constituents who are concerned about the Trump Administration's actions. Here are just a few examples of the calls we've been receiving.
As someone who lost a parent to cancer, I am gravely concerned about the Trump Administration’s plan to shut down public-facing work at NIH. This decision will threaten our ability to research life-saving cures.
I joined my colleagues in asking NIH to resume this critical work.
Is this who you voted to sit in the Oval Office? I don't think so.

February is Black History Month, created to reflect and honor the invaluable contributions of Black Americans to our nation.

A touching example from a resident in my district about the value of USAID, and how suddenly pulling funds would have dire consequences for people working around the world www.smdailyjournal.com/opinion/gues...
Americans don’t expect to have their personal taxpayer information pillaged by unelected billionaires like Elon Musk. That’s why I joined my House Democrat colleagues in introducing the Taxpayer Data Protection Act. kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/02/06/r...
I joined my colleagues in demanding information about unelected billionaire Elon Musk's access to private data and Treasury payment systems. Americans deserve answers NOW!
More bad news from the Trump Administration & more work we're doing to protect against his policies that will harm #USAID, public #education, the economy & the vital services communities across America rely upon. kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/02/04/r...
32 years ago, FMLA became law. FMLA guarantees workers 12 weeks of leave to take care of a newborn or for personal/family medical reasons. I know how valuable time is with our loved ones when they need care. Thanks to FMLA, millions of Americans can take this time without worry.
Happy birthday to legendary civil rights icon Rosa Parks, whose act of dissent served as a major catalyst toward advancing equal rights.
Throughout Black History Month, let’s continue to lift up the stories of Black Americans who help shape our nation.
After contacting my office in fear or upset about what Trump & Musk are doing, the most common question I get is "What are you going to do about it?"
It's a fair question and I promise - I'm going to fight back. kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/02/04/r...
