Back-to-school season should be an exciting time for parents, teachers, and kids. But rising prices on school supplies and everyday essentials are making it tougher for too many families to get ready for the classroom.
Rolling back translation services makes life harder for millions who rely on them to file taxes, access healthcare, and receive important government updates. That’s why I joined my colleagues in demanding answers from the Trump Administration on this harmful decision.
I just led a letter to Trump’s DOJ demanding answers on their elimination of language access services. Over 25.7 million Americans rely on translation services. Our letter makes clear: language access is a right, not a privilege, and Congress will hold them accountable. chu.house.gov/media-center...
That’s why @repespaillat.bsky.social and I led our @hispaniccaucus.bsky.social colleagues in calling on DHS to stop impeding congressional oversight. These visits are key to making sure operators are following the law and standards are being met.
Congratulations to County Prep High School's own John Palsi on being named Hudson County Teacher of the Year! We're grateful for all the incredible educators across our community who dedicate themselves every day to shaping and inspiring the next generation.
The impacts of Hurricane Erin will be felt across the Jersey Shore over the next several days, generating dangerous rip currents and high waves. As conditions worsen, we urge residents and visitors to avoid wading and swimming in the ocean, especially when lifeguards are off duty.
Every moment with our community is both a joy and a privilege. Together, we’ll keep fighting for a stronger, fairer New Jersey. Forever thankful for the people and places that make this district what it is 🤝 To read more about what our team was up to last week, subscribe to our newsletter!
Trump knows his Administration is failing the American people and if Republicans compete in a FAIR election they will LOSE. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will hold this Administration accountable and that’s exactly what Americans want.
First, it was rigging the Texas map to help Republicans. Now, Trump is going after mail-in voting, which would only hurt seniors, military families, and the millions of Americans who rely on it to cast their ballot.
Trump: "Vladimir Putin said something- one of the most interesting things. He said 'your election was rigged because you have mail in voting. It's impossible to have mail in voting & have honest elections.' He said that to me because we talked about 2020. He said, 'you won that election by so much'"
Trump’s ICE has an insatiable appetite to detain immigrants and tear families apart. Time and again, we've seen it's not about violent criminals - it's about creating a culture of intimidation.
Three years ago, the #InflationReductionAct was signed into law and lowered prescription drug costs, boosted manufacturing jobs, and delivered real results across our country. Now, Trump and Republicans are rolling back all the progress @housedemocrats.bsky.social fought for and delivered on.
No Republicans voted for the Inflation Reduction Act calling it a “travesty” and funding from it “wasteful” yet: ✅ they showed up for the ribbon cuttings ✅ boasted to their constituents about bringing federal money back
📍Jersey City La Festa Italiana 🎉 Grateful to celebrate this incredible event with friends and neighbors. Thanks to all of the organizers, vendors and performers who make this one of JC’s best traditions! 🇮🇹
📍 Hudson County Indian Flag Raising 🇮🇳 As we celebrate #IndianIndependenceDay, we are reminded of the strength and resilience of our Indian community whose culture continues to enrich Hudson County & beyond. Thankful to spend today with so many friends and neighbors. 🫶
