We know Trump wants to “flood the zone” with constant news to overwhelm people. We aren't going to let that happen. That’s why I am sounding the alarms on what they plan to do next: cut one of the country’s most important health programs - Medicaid. Here’s why you should care 👇
Went to the House Floor today to recognize Ms. Kim Nesbitt Good. As a pillar of Elizabeth, she has worked to uplift Black voices, stories and history. It is important that we recognize those who contribute so much to our communities, not just this #BlackHistoryMonth, but every day. Watch 👇
How can you help? Keep sharing your concerns with our office - we want to hear from you. Your calls make a difference, and hearing from you helps me understand how I can best serve you in Congress.
Please know that this is just the beginning. You sent me to Washington to fight for you, and that’s exactly what I’ll do - because there’s simply too much at stake.
We are monitoring pending litigation which will challenge the Administration at every step. This week, the NJ Delegation met with Gov. Murphy and his team to ensure we are working hand-in-hand. We are doing this at the local, county, state and federal levels. We are all partners in this together.
I cosponsored the Taxpayer Data Protection Act, which would limit who can access critical systems related to your data. Nobody voted for Elon Musk and his band of acolytes. And they should not be given unfettered access to your information without any accountability measures. Period.
If he truly believes all the actions DOGE and his Administration are taking will benefit the American people, then they should be transparent about it (instead of locking doors and working in complete secrecy.)
I also joined letters with my colleagues to demand answers from the Administration. We know that Trump wants to flood the zone with actions to confuse and distract us but he has a constitutional responsibility to inform us of how these actions impact the American people.
Dozens more of us attempted to do the same at the Treasury Department and when we were turned away, we rallied outside with thousands of concerned citizens. We’ll keep this up for as long as we have to.
Along with Reps. McIver and Watson Coleman, I conducted oversight of ICE at the Elizabeth Detention Center. In addition to visiting EDC, we are requesting information constantly to know what ICE is doing in our communities and coordinating with local electeds and groups. More to come on this soon.
My Democratic colleagues and I are working tirelessly to maintain the checks and balances with the Executive Branch and conducting oversight of federal agencies. That’s exactly what we’ve done over the past week.
Our office has heard from so many of you who are concerned about the actions taken by Trump, DOGE, and Elon Musk over the past few weeks. We get it and this is not normal. Here’s how we are fighting back 👇
Team Menendez distributed more than 1,000 flyers throughout the Eighth District this week to ensure that everyone in our community knows their rights when interacting with ICE. To request copies in your neighborhood, call our district office at (201) 309-0301.
With ICE raids happening nationwide, it’s crucial to know your rights. No matter your status, you have legal protections. Access our Know Your Rights flyer in 12 languages here: menendez.house.gov/services/kno...
Yesterday, I met w/ Gov. Murphy & my NJ colleagues to tackle the issues that matter—affordability, better transit & lowering health care costs. At a time when the Trump Admin. is implementing a harmful & divisive agenda, it's vital that we working together to deliver real solutions for NJ families.
One of the best parts of being a Member of Congress is nominating constituents to military academies. Today, I was honored to call a high school senior from Weehawken and let him know that he's been accepted to West Point!
During today’s E&C hearing, I made it clear that energy dominance cannot come at the expense of communities that have faced environmental injustice for far too long. We must continue to support places like Elizabeth & the Ironbound with funding for environmental justice initiatives. Watch 👇
Shutting down USAID jeopardizes our national security and undermines our global influence. That’s why I’ve joined my colleagues in demanding Secretary Rubio reverse these reckless moves and protect USAID’s mission to strengthen America’s influence worldwide.
