To our federal workforce: As the Trump Administration purges civil servants, make sure you know your rights and what resources are available to you.  Visit my webpage for more information ⬇️

Presidents’ Day falls during #BlackHistoryMonth, and the #BHM2025 theme focuses on labor. Today is a good day to learn about the over 300 known enslaved men, women and children who built and staffed the White House. Their story is part of the fabric of American history.

History shows that appeasing an authoritarian dictator with dreams of expanding his territory by force does not work. I joined @newsnation.bsky.social to discuss developments in the war in Ukraine.
Happy Douglass Day! Frederick Douglass never knew his birthday. Those who kept him enslaved only recorded that he was born in February 1818. He chose Valentine’s Day to celebrate as his birthday because his last memory of his mother was of her giving him a heart-shaped cake. #BHM2025

This week, amidst a snowy backdrop, I hosted a Tele-Town Hall and stood against the Trump Administration’s efforts to steal essential services from the American people. Check out what you missed.
Over half of the public schools in the U.S. have a teacher shortage, especially in STEM and special education fields.  I just introduced the bipartisan Teacher and School Leader Quality Partnership Grants Act with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick to ensure every child has the teachers they need.
Happy Valentine’s Day, and thank you to everyone who sent Valentines for veterans in VA-04!  Today, my team and I delivered them to veterans across the district and had a discussion on what’s happening on the Hill with veterans at Hopewell’s VFW Post 637.

The CFPB was created to stop the bank and financial institution practices that led to the 2008 mortgage crisis and Great Recession. This blatant power grab could send us hurtling into another economic crisis.
Russell Vought and Elon Musk’s DOGE bros have hijacked the CFPB, halting its vital work protecting consumers from predatory lending, mortgage fraud, exploitive junk fees and unfair bank practices. I joined Congresswoman Maxine Waters to demand they halt this hostile CFPB takeover. ⬇️
