Congress has an end of year to-do list a mile long — funding the government, passing the NDAA, and bringing down costs for American families. What are House Republicans putting on the floor instead? The Liberty in Laundry Act. Seriously???
Excited to serve as a Co-Chair of Future Forum Congress alongside Rep. Pettersen and @repmcgarvey.bsky.social This new generation of leaders will be defending our values, advocating for common sense solutions and advancing economic prosperity for every American. Let’s get to work!
Every year, over 17 million students fill out the FAFSA, including 7,440 Rhode Islanders. I’m grateful to RISLA for all of their work to help countless families seek out and obtain critical federal student aid.
With cyber threats on the rise, I was proud to join the RI Dept. of Education, the White House ONCD, Governor Dan Mckee, and Jim Langevin today to announce Rhode Island’s schools will be leading the nation in cybersecurity thanks to new tools in every K-12 public school and library across the state!
On the 82nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, we honor the servicemembers and civilians who lost their lives or were wounded. Today, let us commemorate the bravery and resilience demonstrated on that fateful day and thank the Americans who answered the call to serve.
As we work to keep our communities safe, I’m proud to join my colleagues in securing nearly $10 million for initiatives that will help reduce crime, assist survivors of violence, and improve public safety in Rhode Island.
In October, I led a tour of Rhode Island's Blue Economy to talk w/ business & labor, academics, & nonprofits spurring innovation & growth.    Today, @globeri.bsky.social published my op-ed discussing the importance of the Blue Economy to our state’s future. Read more:
Commentary from Gabe Amo: R.I. stakeholders - public, private and nonprofit - must row in the same direction on blue economy.
Today, I met with the Ukraine Parliament’s Secretary of the Security Defense Committee Colonel Roman Kostenko to hear updates in their effort to defeat Putin’s aggression.   As a member of @houseforeign.bsky.social, I’m committed to supporting our Ukrainian allies in their fight for democracy.
I’m proud to be a cosponsor of the U.S. Engagement in Sudanese Peace Act introduced by Rep. Gregory Meeks and @repsarajacobs.bsky.social. This critical measure would address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
Ranking Member Gregory Meeks, Ranking Member Sara Jacobs today introduced comprehensive legislation to address the ongoing crisis in Sudan. Fighting, displacement, and starvation have resulted in the deaths of more than 150,000 people, and subjected civilians to horrific atrocities.
This year, I’m helping to lead the bipartisan effort to increase funding to the Nonprofit Security Grant program. With applications opening December 4th, faith-based institutions & local non-profits can learn more about grant opportunities below: www.fema.gov/grants/prepa...
Today, @magaziner.house.gov and I joined the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island for an informative roundtable discussion with local organizations about how the Nonprofit Security Grant Program delivers critical federal funding to keep Rhode Islanders safe.
November is National Diabetes Month. Thanks to the historic Inflation Reduction Act, insulin for seniors is now capped at $35 a month. In Congress, I remain committed to lowering prescription drug costs to ensure healthcare is affordable for all.
To start off my #SmallBusinessSaturday, I joined Mayor Don Grebien, SBA Regional Administrator @sandriscano.bsky.social, and the Rhode Island Wave Runners running club for breakfast at Delicias de mi Tierra to celebrate Pawtucket’s vibrant local business community!
Rhode Island just received its largest ever grant from FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program! The $15.5 million will help strengthen climate resilience at the Port of Galilee and state marine facilities — protecting frontline communities for years to come.
Wishing everyone in Rhode Island and across the nation a Happy Thanksgiving filled with gratitude, great food, and meaningful time with loved ones.  Today and everyday, I’m very thankful to represent such an incredible district in Congress! #Thanksgiving #RI01
Celebrated the season of giving thanks this week with the Elisha Project in Pawtucket to distribute holiday goods, produce, shelf-stable goods, and hygienic products.
While we work to build climate change resilience in the Ocean State, I was proud to join the Rhode Island Congressional Delegation in delivering $31.9 million to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from construction projects across the state.
Yesterday, I joined AmericorpsRI at RLB Elementary to see firsthand how their CityYear members are making a difference for their school. After some high fives and math lessons, I had the chance to speak with Americorps members from across our state about their public service work.
